SEO / blog setup help for new business

Hey guys!

I'm setting up a blog for my new web app which was built on Bubble. I was going to set the blog up on Ghost, but it will mean the URL is blog.site.io rather than site.io/blog.

I know the latter is way better for SEO, but Ghost has a much better platform for everything blogging related (including SEO).

Understand there may be no 'correct' solution - but does anyone have an opinion on which option I should go for here?

Honestly, I think the power of getting going and getting your content out there is way bigger than delaying because of the perfect url chain.

The quality of your content and whether you are actually answering the 'intent' of the SEO search terms is way more important.

    Good luck!

Given that your blog and consistent content marketing is probably initially going to be one of the main drivers of traffic to your site, I'd rather jump through the extra hoops to get site.io/blog working. You can do this with a proxy server - something that forwards requests to sito.io/blob/* to your blog and everything else to site.io.

Bubble unfortunately doesn't support this out of the box yet (although users have asked for it in exactly that context), but it is fairly straight forward to use e.g. AWS to route your traffic to bubble or to ghost, depending on the URL path. Let me know if you'd like me to provide some pointers on how to set this up.

I'd be very interested to see if this were possible @wolframhempel.

All the investigation I've done on the Bubble side suggests it can't be done (https://forum.bubble.io/t/blog-seo-ghost-wordpress-or-any-cms-on-subfolder-blog-with-bubble/121411/23). If you've got any pointers, I'd love that as I agree it would be great to get it right!

Not sure if bubble has this option, but have you considered integrating a content management system into your website?

For my product ruttl's blog, I use contentful to setup and manage the blog page.

Bubble have some formatting issues when migrating from other CMS. I had this when I transferred from the application for the project https://www.worktime.com, but there was a completely different topic
Tried to keep things simple so I could focus on building a business development product, but it turned out it wasn't!

This is probably a bit complicated for what I was hoping @harshvijay and Bubble appears to have some formatting issues when bringing in from other CMSs.

Was trying to keep the whole thing simple so I can focus on building the product and growing the business but that's proving to not be the case!

Ahh shoot that's too bad! Sorry for the late reply :( Did you find any fix for this issue yet?

        1. 1

I haven't fixed it quite yet, but have been chatting to some people on the Bubble forum with the issue and they may have a solution - I just have to get around to trying it!

Hope you get it figured out! :)

Is it possible to put your bubble site on app.site?

That way you can have a fast marketing site and blog.

One of our customers https://prentus.co/ uses https://versoly.com/ for the marketing site and blog.

    Then bubble for his app.

Could be an option thanks @volkandkaya. It's a pretty small site at the moment so was hoping to keep it all compact, but I'll investigate this.

        Ah okay.

I saw you mention Ghost so thought you was looking for an extra tool.
