Sep 14 — YC Build Sprint Edition 8 Days To Go

Product : Xapnik, an app that's like Slack for all your community's social media feeds, making it easy to amplify each other in less time.

Overall Goals:
(1) sign up at least 25 beta users,

(2) add at least one new social media network to the app based upon beta user feedback,

(3) get app store approval and launch!

Progress:
1 — 15 users signed up

2 — this ain't gonna happen

3 — achieved, but a week later than hoped

Added 5 new users to the app this week.

Didn't get the traction I'd hoped for from posting announcements in my community Slack channels. I think because my world is nearly 100% tech folk, there's a lot of "try my app" fatigue.

Inviting people 1:1 to join me in a Xapnik group is much more effective. And of course, that's how most users will be introduced to the app—through an invitation.

So the challenge now is to figure out how to get group creators (vs group joiners) interested—people who will invite others.

Revisiting some JTBD basics to see if I can better zero in on how to reach the group creator user I believe will benefit the very most from Xapnik.
