Hi fellow hackers,

Share what you have shipped this week

Let's help each other to give feedback

Myself have built 3 free tools to generate names for Youtube, Twitch, Podcast based on AI

Here are the links to the same

I am working on a new template to sell it on www.wickedtemplates.com you cans ee how is going here.

    At the moment
I am around 27 pages and 40 sections and planning to add more.
But, I took a brake and worked on the landing psge for it.

Is built with Tailwind CSS and Gulp.

      1. 1

thank you so much Jordan 😁

    1. 1

      Very bold, I like it

    2. 1

Like @jordbhansen said, looking top notch! Good luck Michael.

    3. 1

How did you embed tweet and images?

    4. 1

That's looking really great, how do you plan to promote it ?

  2. 4

I’ll be honest, I’ve spent the whole week working to get a server set up!

(Laravel Forge, nginx, PHP, MySQL, DigitalOcean, Bitbucket)

Getting there, but it does feel like I’m going backwards, and nothing shipped!

    1. 3

We focus on shipping, but learning is important. When I do new things I get frustrated with how long it takes. I bet going forward you're going to be able to use this knowledge in powerful ways.

      1. 1

        Yes, you're right!

I always think, "It shouldn't be this hard!"

I will learn from this, but not anything I really want to learn. A web developer having to learn how to set up a server is like a musician having to learn how to cut down a tree, saw up the wood and construct a guitar. Shouldn't the web developer be able to go to the server store, just as the musician can go to the guitar store, and buy one ready made?

I'm tempted to make a YouTube video of this entire process, so that others don't have to fight the same battle as me.

End of rant. Thanks for listening!

        1. 2

I get it. Cloud infrastructure has made many things easier, but there is still plenty that is still hard. I think the youtube approach is an excellent idea. I tried it and hated it, but it seems that it can be very advantageous to you.

    2. 1

Just use render.com and ship. I've spent a couple hours at most setting up my apps.

      1. 1

        I’ll check it out, thanks!

  3. 4

I shipped GitShip today! It's designed to help developers monetize their code/themes/plugins etc. The first release includes automated GitHub collaborator flows for private repos and automated zipping of the latest release for sellers on GumRoad. More coming soon! https://gitship.com

    1. 2

Very neat concept. Good luck Nick!

      1. 2

Thanks @pheonix! Please DM me if you try it out.

    2. 2

You are using EC2's self signed Certificate which is breaking your site on browsers. You should install a proper SSL certificate for https.

    3. 2

Interesting concept. Would love to see how it's progressing in near future. As someone else pointed out too, SSL is an issue you might wanna check

    4. 2

you're ssl certificate is causing errors. I would fix it.

      1. 2

Thanks, @codegeek1001, @Anil1729 and @Businesscoder. I made the classic error of linking to a domain that hadn't fully propagated. I am a little over-excited :) Should be fine now.

  4. 3

Still working on Square29 - a service where we build professionally designed, fast, custom made websites at an unbeatable price ($79/$99).
    https://www.square29.com

    1. 1

      May need it, well done.

    2. 1

This is great to know, affordable for everybody. I will be spreading the word, nice work.

    3. 1

Website looks clean! What is your turn around time? Do you use a no-code platform to build the sites? So, if you get say 100 orders how would you manage?

      1. 3

No, no-code, everything is hand coded. We have our own system which enables us to build website quite quickly. So, you pick a theme and we can easily customize it to fit your content and look good. Depending on the website complexity and the level of customization, it should be done in a day or two. In the future, I expect that several website a day could be easily created. 100 orders? :) We have just launched recently, so that would be a nice problem to have.

        1. 1

Great, thanks for the response. Good luck :)

    4. 1

Awesome, since it's a one-time price how would you deal with the monthly costs of hosting the websites ?

      1. 1

Websites are static so there is no cost for me. Users will be able to update their content using our custom CMS. At the moment CMS is not yet completed so if someone wants to update their content, they have to send us an email and we'll update their website for them. Users websites and our CMS will be connected using API so our only cost is our own server.

        1. 1

I am hoping at some point of time this will become something similar to Webflow and in that case you might wanna charge monthly based on the number of page views

          1. 1

Well, Webflow is a website builder and that's not our goal. This service is created for non-tech people who need a simple website and don't know or don't want to maintain it. That's why we are creating the website, deploying it... We take care of everything. And subscription will be added in the future for people who want more features.

  5. 3

Keep building and growing microns.io. Discover the best micro-startups for sale.

    1. 1

Congratz and keep on building. How do you make your money? How are you different from the other Micro... that does something similar?

      1. 1

        Hi. Thaks for your questions.

Right now, Microns is completely free.

We are completely different. Focused mainly on small and no revenue projects while microacqure focused on $500k+ projects and don't accept pre-revenue startups.

    2. 1

This is looking great and I am sure it would have a great demand and can become a huge marketplace like Codecanyon.

What channels are you thinking of to grow/market the tool ?

      1. 1

Hi Anil. Thank you for your reply.

Right now, promoting in other newsletters and on Twitter. Plan to write posts in interview format to boost SEO.

        1. 1

Great tool, looking forward to your update

  6. 2

Working on a fun project over the long weekend here in Australia!

An AI search engine for startup/product podcast episodes. Podcasts are my favourite source for learning about topics as I build my startup, and I want a better discovery method than iTunes/Spotify search.

    WIP: https://podcast-search-relevance.vercel.app/

Working name is Startcast but this may change based on what domain I can find!

    1. 1

Sounds like a fun project. I wish you the best.

  7. 2

Just launched photographertonight.com! An app to connect touring musicians with local photographers and videographers to capture their shows, create music videos, and take promo photos for their music.

    1. 1

I'm not the target audience, but this sounds like a good idea. Bringing together people for a mutually beneficial opportunity. Good luck!

  8. 2

Build a new website for askdiogo.com! I was running the old website on Carrd and it limited my options somewhat. Switched to Unicorn Platform (like it very much @alexanderisora!) and now it looks much better.

Launching on my social media (+3.000 followers on LinkedIn) next Wednesday so I want to make a good first impression!

With the feedback I get from this I can iterate to launch better on PH, reddit, etc!

  9. 2

I'm making https://notabase.io, an easy-to-use note-taking app for networked thinking. I just added tags today, and a few days ago I updated the landing page (let me know what you think 😉).

  10. 1

After learning to code over the last few months, I shipped Top Startups, a database of startups backed by top investors: https://topstartups.io/

Think the best alternative to indie hacking is finding a fast-growing startup, so I wanted to make it easier to do so :) You can filter by industry, size, jobs and more

    Welcome feedback!

  11. 1

I built a widget for my app Budgie to pivot to video messaging for customer support, sales and onboarding.

I wrote a post on my decisions to pivot here :)
    https://www.indiehackers.com/post/i-failed-to-launch-then-decided-to-pivot-a1fdb4ffe8

  12. 1

I'm building PodQueue, the missing "Listen Later" for audio on the web, and this week I added a Search feature so that users can search the links and podcast episodes that they've saved in PodQueue:

    https://podqueue.fm

  13. 1

I'll be shipping Creatorbase on Product Hunt early this week! It's designed to be the No. 1 platform for Creators to find the best tools and resources to succeed in the creator economy.

This initial release includes a searchable and filter-able of the best creator tools available with detailed maker, category and funding data + a curated collection of some of the best thought leadership and guides on the creator economy!

Get notified when we launch here: https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/creatorbase

    Imgur

    1. 2

      Looking great, subscribed to it

      1. 1

        Thanks for your support Anil!

  14. 1

We released the beta of Instacap for Chrome! It's super bare bones—you click on the extension, add an annotation and copy the screenshot to the clipboard. Check it out if anyone would like to try it out:

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/instacap/jompclhalmbigbmjogfnfjkomponodhk

    1. 1

Awesome, looking forward to further updates

  15. 1

Worked on multiple updates for various products and shipped one update for AdminKit, which features Bootstrap v5.1.1 and Webpack v5. Also polished up the GitHub Repository a bit: https://github.com/adminkit/adminkit

  16. 1

    Just launched www.curatedfunding.com

A service to help creatives and social entreprenuers access funding opportunities

    11 customers so far.

    1. 1

Congrats on getting the early traction. More to come

  17. 1

    Hey 👋

A fresh v2 of my niche generator :D

    https://www.indiehackers.com/product/niche-generator

    Have a nice day!

  18. 1

Not a product per se, but I shared another NoCode Story on my podcast with the founder of Code2.io! Great 20-year journey with a short framework on how to approach starting a new business.

    https://MyNoCodeStory.com/

    1. 1

      Looks great, keep us updated

  19. 1

I haven't shipped anything, but I just started a new project to scratch my own itch. I'm rooting for everyone here! The more indies that succeed the better in my opinion.

My app helps kids keep track of their chores and get rewarded for it. There are existing apps like this, but they don't work well for my family. I haven't decided if I'm going to try to make this a product, but I think the self motivation will see me through.

  20. 1

Started a side project today called Down Time Art , its a simple shopify store selling art.
Will release a new canvas everyday until launch Nov 1st
Feel free to roast my landing page.😉(DM for password)
    https://downtimeart.com/

  21. 1

Hey! I read all the messages and I felt it was nice to read all those achievements (and visiting the links you guys were posting) so here is my update:

This week I launched a new integration for https://dailytics.com, Pirsch Analytics. So users can create email reports from Google Analytics, Fathom, Plausible and Pirsch now :)

  22. 1

I have implemented real-time updates to my Boards module. Essentially when an card is updated ( users are assigned, description, comments, files ) are added to the card - all users who are currently looking at that board will get notified and see the changes in real-time. ( https://cogency.io/ )

    1. 1

Way to go! What tech are you using?

  23. 1

For geo.codes, I focused heavily on the email onboarding sequence. This is part of my campaign to improve the onboarding experience: in the past few weeks, I've added SDK libraries, improved the documentation with copy/paste code snippets, and now I finally am sending an onboarding sequence to keep reminding them that the service exists a few times.

Previously, I had a relatively easy time signing people up for the service, but I lost them between signup and setup. Now more users are successfully setting the service up, and this all helped get me my highest-volume user to date.

    1. 1

This looks useful. Do you have a
      price comparison vs googles geodata?

      1. 1

I don't have one on the site, but they charge $5.00 per 1000, and I charge $0.50 per 1000.

If you want to chat about it more, feel free to email/tweet me! I'd love to hear more about your use case

    2. 1

Are you using anything to track these type of metrics? Any tools to manage the emails?

      1. 1

I'm using EmailOctopus for emails, so I'm using its reports to understand how people are interacting with email (and when they're not). For tracking the funnel, I have a spreadsheet that I manually update.

  24. 1

Working on https://commotion.page! It's an easy way to embed forms in your Notion pages and save responses to a Notion database, cutting out the need for Airtable or Google Sheets. Just shipped out a bunch of new features like password protection!

    1. 2

Really cool concept and dig the landing page.

  25. 1

Hey Anil. Thanks for doing this.

This week I worked more on the Secretary of State API (https://cobaltintelligence.com/secretary-of-state). It allows you to get business data about any business in the United States all via API.

Specifically I worked on building a database to speed up requests. Each time a query comes in, I'll check to see if we have the information in our database, if we don't, then we continue to the state to get the live data.

I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.

    1. 1

You should be proud of how it turned out. It looks neat! Just a question, how did you decide which states are premium and which aren't?

      1. 1

Great question. It really just comes down to cost. The premium states have things like captchas or require proxies, which increases the cost significantly.

  26. 1

I built TweetSponsor this week. It's a platform for connecting Twitter creators to sponsors who want to reach their audience.

It's a super quick and basic MVP - literally a landing page with links to Airtable + Gumroad. But it's enough for idea validation.

I launched it on Product Hunt today where it has been getting some good feedback, some listings for twitter creators, and it's already made a sale too!

    1. 2

I really like your approach. A basic MVP, launch on PH then continue building. Good luck! Just upvoted on PH.

      1. 2

Thanks! Coming from a typical 'software guy' background, it's hard to resist getting engrossed in designing and building a complete product - but because I restricted myself to validating the idea in only a few days the MVP had to be as minimal as possible.

So far it has paid off. There has been interest from both sides of the equation (creators and sponsors) and a sale. Which gives me permission and confidence to take it another step further.

  27. 1

I've launched the new landing page of my Dev Concepts project: https://dev-concepts.dev/

    1. 1

Simple and neat, who are your target customers and where do you find them

      1. 1

        Thanks!

Mainly junior software developers who feel overwhelmed. But the content will also be relevant for many seniors out there.

Where I find them is the part of the equation I still need to work on ;-)
For now I use Twitter and my blog as the top of my funnel.

        1. 1

Awesome, wish you best of luck. Keep us posted on your progress

  28. 1

Aleerty, a chrome extension that notifies users if actors or artists are available on Cameo.com while watching Netflix or listening to Spotify.

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/aleerty/pmloanjiknajphodanphgihejjbeammd/related

    1. 1

Pretty neat, I believe a producthunt launch should give a boost of users

      1. 1

Thanks. PH launch is on it way on Oct 3rd , 2021 ...
Look out for it at https://www.producthunt.com/posts/aleerty

  29. 1

https://keepcart.co landingpage. It's for validation. Really simple but clean.
    What do you think?

    1. 2

It's simple and conveys the message. Only thing I might A/B test is the color combo but I guess if you are just looking for validation it won't matter much. Keep us posted how is the response

      1. 2

thank you! I used the Shopify colors. Cause it's the validation it doesn't matter yet.

  30. 1

Myself have built 3 free tools to generate names for Youtube, Twitch, Podcast based on AI

    https://www.vadoo.tv/twitch-name-generator

    1. 1

I like the idea of name generator. This really helps people who are not good at this, including myself. From a UX perspective, I suggest you limit the results to 10, then allow the user to select to see the next 10 and so on. Good luck!

      1. 1

Thanks for checking it out and for the valuable feedback @BlackZulu, will give an update accordingly :)
