Should I launch my project on a national or international level?

I was wondering what the advantages are of launching a service nationally ( in my native language ) compared to launching it internationally.

Anyone would like to share their experiences?

Depends on the service, do you have localisation issues of some sorts? Or does it depend on a social crowd?... Or anything of the sort that putting focus on one local makes sense?..

      What I am currently considering:

      • There will be an extra effort building two locales, think translations, different currencies. So that would delay deployment of an MVP significantly.
      • The service itself is bound to a fairly large group of the population, regardless of country.
      • Going international will increase my audience significantly.
      • Building the service in my native language may give a competitive advantage (not that there is much competition I am aware of).
      • The profitability and popularity of the service are hard to estimate in the early stage.

Whatever makes time to testable MVP shorter, do that
