Should I use a different website and/or Twitter account for different projects?

I am currently working on one project which I write about becoming a self-taught software developer, but alongside this, I want to write more technical posts/tutorials about a specific mobile framework.

My question is, do I publish both types of posts under the same URL? or with them being 2 separate niches, do I separate them and have 2 sites?

The same goes for on Twitter. Do I post about both topics from my personal account? Or do I have a separate Twitter account focused purely on the mobile stuff and keep my personal for my self-taught developer niche?

Appreciate the help.

Thanks
Joel

I have had many sites and Twitter accounts over the years. My interests have changed so I've abandoned and revived old sites.

In hindsight, I wish I did everything under my own name. Even if the topic changes, I'm still the center of that content.

I'd recommend getting the domains and social media accounts for the topics you are interested in, but it's probably best to stick to your name as the URL and social media accounts for most of your content.

It's different if it's a business that doesn't identify as you. However, for most content, I would focus on one site with your name.

      definitely some wisdom here.

Appreciate the advice. I think its best to focus both types of content on the one site.

The more I think about it, the audience is new, or early in their career developers and both types of content can definitely be targeted towards them, and like you say, I don't know if I will continue with one or the other after awhile so its best to try and see what clicks with people the most.

      Thanks

I'm doing a combination of both.

Especially in the beginning most of the people who find your product/articles will come from your own network. So it is almost required that you talk about it.

Now wether to post directly from your personal account, or to post from a dedicated account and share from your personal account, that is up to you.

I see. That is a good point. I guess the more content that drives traffic the better, and I imagine juggling 2 websites before I even nailed down one is getting ahead of myself.

      Thanks for the advice.

Good question. I'm curious how people answer this.
