Show IH: Landing page and product for freelancers feedback

  1. 2

I would agree that the copy though clear is rather long.

To improve the product maybe open it up to other freelance services e.g. copywriting, market research, strategy, SEO, social media.

As freelancers often wear many hats. There's a good chance those in your newsletter can offer more than just design services. As my first thought was $97 is rather steep to only be receiving design gigs from a newsletter received by thousands of other freelance designers (aka competition). With most other gig marketplaces you get to see a few types of briefs/RFP for 1-3 types of service you can provide. So I'd suggest increasing types of gigs in the newsletter <<< This for me would then make it a no brainer to sign up to.

    Hope that helps.

Good points all around! Thanks Janinah.

PS. I've actually had development and marketing gigs in the past and those lists did well too. Maybe I should bring them back.

No worries and if you've already done the hustle of putting together those lists I'd definitely think about bringing them back. Specially as Covid unemployment is a global problem right now, so more people are turning to gig/ remote work.

    Hi IndieHackers,

I've had this product since 2013-ish. It's consistently provided results for my customers. But I'd like to take it to the next level. The two main areas I'd love to get your thoughts on are:

    • What could I add to the product to make it more valuable and an absolute no-brainer for you?
    • What could I add to this landing page to explain it better? Is there anything you're not sure about, confused about, or think sucks?

    Really appreciate it!

I would say the copy is rather clear. I am not part of your target audience (design agencies) but I could understand the value prop of having someone do your lead gen.

      My only question is this:
How optimized is the copy? It does seem rather long, but as long as it engages your audience it is fine. I personally stopped reading once I figured out what you were doing (about halfway).

      1. 1

Not sure. How would one figure out how optimized it is?

Accidentally deleted my response instead of edit. Think one of the go-to template responses for that is trying AB testing on the copy?

If this is already getting great results, not sure if that's the best place to look though.

Well then it's great you got your answer to question #2.
Question #1 well that's a question every company is trying to answer in one way or the other!

I'd say the landing page does well. Although always room to improve of course. But historically, my sales copy hasn't been the biggest issue – it's been more volume / scalability with the product.

I agree, read through it multiple times and it's great copy (I'm not even the target market and I noticed it evoked emotion in me).
