Spam is my new media channel

When I stumbled upon newsletter, I was thrilled. So many leading thinkers are sending their gems to my inbox. I compulsively subscribed until I realised that my inbox is clutted with gems and other stuff. Cluttering has never been a good thing even with gems.

What should I do? Setting up another email to collect those gems? Google has made it far harder than it used to be to setup a dummy email. Use RSS feeds? Too much work. I looked around and realised there is one spot that's completely out of my sight, but still right there within a click. My spam. That's right. Sending all of my newsletter to my spam, and once in while check it for a dopamine kick.

The spam box suddenly my haven keeping all everything that I care about the world out there, but still completely under my control. There's no machine learning things that guess what I like, no political remarks in the comment section, no interuptive notification. Are we living in such a fragmanted and distractive world that I have stick my head into my spam box to cancel all the noise out there?

In Gmail I use the snoozed mail folder for that, i.e. as a holding space. Whenever a newsletter issues comes in and I can't read it right now, I snooze the mail.
