Stand-up #4: finding sustainable pace, celebrating small victories

The work week has hit and finding the balance between my main job at Inkarnate, the side project I'm working on and the amazing blogging for devs course starts to get tricky.

After my recent burn-out and recovery I'm trying to be extra-careful to set a
sustainable, realistic pace. 🚶‍♂️

For me, it means learning how to:

  • keep an close eye on my state and energy levels as I work;
  • get up from my desk before I'm exhausted;
  • make sure to find time for things outside of tech;
  • and most importantly, find joy in small victories and slower (but still steady) progress

🎉 Small victories to celebrate:

  • Purchased domain, created and deployed my personal site/blog from a Gatsby template
  • Took a first look at TailwindCSS for my personal blog
  • Created a system in Notion for collecting blog ideas
  • Generated 14 ideas for tech blogging, good and bad
  • Got 1 new follower on Twitter (growing my network from zero)
  • Finding joy and new meanings in my main job

Well, looking at this list it wasn't that bad! 😃

    I love this kind of posts. Great victories right there.

    Oddly enough, I also started to do some kind of logging on my daily progress (twitter, front-end learning,...) even started learning a bit of TailwindCSS last week haha

    Keep up the good work!

    These are certainly great wins. And I find it inspiring you're documenting your small (daily) wins. Looking forward to your next write up.
