Starting a maker's mentality (personal journey)

A while ago I wrote a blog post about cultivating a maker's mentality. Honestly, this is something I'm still working on. Growing up, creating something from scratch doesn't really come naturally to me, so I wrote about that: https://honest-articulation.com/2019/03/01/the-journey-of-making-anything-really/

Have you ever feel that you are not a natural 'maker' ?

    This is awesome!

Being a perfectionist, I can easily relate to what you said there.

The reason I am late to the startup game is that I worried too much about unnecessary details and didn't ship products because it wasn't perfect!

So my 2019 resolution is to do more stupid staffs. I built tools that are no way the best demonstration of my experience, yet gathered the courage to ship. I failed, but I failed faster and learned valuable lessons.

Maker mentality isn't cultivated in most families anywhere, but Asian's do need to work extra hard because being authentic, being bold isn't in our culture.

Nicely thought out. Thanks for sharing again.

Thank you @myakubmizan! Yeah, your upbringing plays an important factor.
