Table2Site got acquired!

My side project Table2Site got acquired! I'm both sad and happy at the same time. I lacked the time to spend on it, so it's a good time to pass the torch to someone who can devote more energy to the project.

I wonder what's next!

Awesome man, here to ask the important questions :)

    • How much? :)
    • How much MRR?

      1. I can't disclose the exact amount but I can say that it was more than a 20x multiple.
      2. MRR is at $1.2k.

That's great, can you tell me the math you did to get to the 20x multiple?

        1. 1

It's more than 20x, I just can't disclose how much more as that will be unfair to the buyer. It's their info to share, not mine :). I'm open about finances, but they might not be.

Thanks, Sander! And congrats to you too with your recent launch. I think you found a good niche to focus on!

NICE, do share with us another article that covers the whole entire thing

@fajarsiddiq in case you're still interested: I explain why I sold and how I sold (the whole MicroAcquire process) here: https://www.maartenbelmans.com/the-road-to-acquisition-the-story-of-table2site/ It's a long post, but contains some value hopefully!

    Congrats!

Who was it acquired by? Any updates on what's next?

Being an existing customer, I'm excited but also concerned..

    1. 1

It's acquired by someone with more time and energy to continue the project. They are now hiring a developer to build new features for the product. Compared to the inactivity of my roadmap in the last year, I think this will be a positive change for existing customers :-).

I'll talk to the buyer to see if we can send out a news email about this to you and other users with some more details!

        That'll be great! Thanks!

Congrats on the sale! Wow >20x the multiple. Nice chunk of cash for your next idea. :)

        Where was it sold? Microacquire?

        1. 2

Yes indeed. If you're interested, I explain why I sold and how I sold (the whole MicroAcquire process) here: https://www.maartenbelmans.com/the-road-to-acquisition-the-story-of-table2site/ It's a long post, but contains some value hopefully!

    Congratulations!!! 👍

Congrats! That looks like a great project, I'm sure it's tough to let your baby go but better than letting it become neglected. Hopefully it'll keep growing and you can take satisfaction in knowing that you started it.

Thanks! That was my exact reasoning too :)

    Congratulations!

I'm curious, how did you come to make the decision to sell vs. continue working on it yourself?

I checked your post history, and I don't see you discussing anything like that i.e. you were thinking about selling, or you were finding it hard to balance maintenance, etc.

    1. 1

I sat with the idea of selling for about ~8 months before actually listing it on the market. During those 8 months, I would always question whether or not selling was the correct thing to do (vs hiring freelancers to help etc...).

Even though I love the no-code space and I see a lot of potential, I always shifted to "yes, you should sell" because I lacked energy, time, and knowledge to jump the hurdles Table2site was facing.

I didn't post about it earlier because I didn't want customers to think Table2site was "dead in the water" because I wanted to sell.
