Tell us what you're working on in under 15 words?

I actually keep a personal database of interesting tools, SaaS, extensions and productivity tools, mostly for myself, but I also like to showcase these tools on my weekly email for the users subbed to my mailing list and I'm looking to add a few more tools to that list for my own audience.

Maybe give us a short elevator pitch under 15 words!

  1. 14

We are building a website widget that allows business owners to upload a video on your websites and show it over the webpage incentivizing users to perform target action (send an email, phone number, or redirect to a certain page).

    https://videotouch.io

Get more paying customers by usingthe #1 tool for increasing conversion rate

      1. 2

We are primarily focused on collecting information from users’ clients (for example, their phone numbers or emails) inside the widget, also you can set the CTA button the way you’d want to, including redirect URL.

In addition, we provide our users with a free plan with full functionality of the service (up to 5,000 visitors per month). Our users have information about the number of views, widget loads, and clicks on the CTA button - this can help them to test different marketing strategies and choose the video and CTA that works best.

        1. 3

Cool! Just as a heads up, videoask also lets you do all that.

The analytics is something that I've been wanting though, so thanks for letting me know!

          1. 1

            Thanks for your feedback!

Just a quick note on that, Videoask has a very limited free version that doesn’t allow redirect to another URL and data export, and they have a branding logo even in the paid version.

I agree they’re doing a great product, but we want to give everyone the chance to use the service in full since day one :)

    1. 1

This is solid.. giving it a try now

      Cool. Just signed up.

    2. 2

This looks pretty awesome! Love to use this for my app. Signed up 👌🏼

      1. 2

Fantastic! Should be finally ready to use by the end of the month. Let me know if you have any specific feature requests!

        1. 2

Nice, looking forward to checking it out. Right now I'm using Rotato for Mac so interested to see how yours runs in the browser.

  3. 8

I am building the most powerful no-code web automation & data extraction tool which will be open for early adopters by the end of month. It's called https://automatio.co

    1. 2

Also, some of the links from your previous newsletters are broken and open broken page.

      1. 1

Yeah I know about this. Recently did massive rework on my website, and me being the dumbass I am, accidentally deleted the some of my previous issues😭 Will be priority later this week.

    2. 2

Btw @TheWonderingZall the internet world is small. I just went through your previous issue, and the first one I opened, I found that you featured one of my old side projects Wireflow 😎

      1. 1

Lol I actually remember that 😂🔥

    3. 1

Hey, that's really cool, how did you validate your idea? Is there a demand for it?

      1. 1

        That's a good question Viktor.

Automatio is born per need to solve my own problems. It's not built blindly as a product that tries to validate the idea. It was obvious to me if this tool serves me well, that people gonna need it as well. So I decided to record a video of our "internal tool" and share it on Facebook. At that moment it was not even branded and packed as a product. I got tons of positive feedback, questions and "take my money" words.

After that, we decided to make a SaaS out of it.

        1. 1

Only on facebook between friends, or on groups and pages? I'm asking because whenever I try to validate my own idea, I get only "this thing exists", and they share my competitors...which I already know about...

I am building an automatic image background remover tool - backgroundcut.co

    1. 2

Works well! I have been impressed with Canva’a solution and how a single click can get better results than a single click in photoshop (without messing with settings). This seems like it was just as good!

      1. 2

Although there are lot of improvements to be done it works for most of easy images. Regarding Canva, I think they are using remove.bg as their backend as the quality seems way to similar.

  5. 5

Haha I love these, every few weeks on Indie Hackers it's:

    • describe your product in 5 words
    • describe your product in 15 words
    • describe your product with emojis
    • describe your product in under 50 characters

I'm guilty in that I posted "Describe your product in the most boring way possible". Anyway,

Portabella is simple, end-to-end encrypted and privacy friendly project management.

    1. 3

Describe your product by "thought alone". Really focus. See if I get it.

Ha, these do pop up a lot. But I jump at the opportunity every time!

      1. 3

😂 describe your product via telepathy

        1. 2

I had a good chuckle at this!! 😂😂

A self-organizing bookmark manager to help information become knowledge.

    1. 2

Sort of like pocket (getpocket.com)? How will it be different? I would be very interested in a better way to add more organization to my bookmarks!

      1. 1

Thanks for asking! I'm trying a different philosophy when it comes to organization. I'm the type of person who is always finding cool articles and dumping them into my bookmarks. I don't have the time to spend hours carefully constructing a delicate folder system that I'll actually come back to so I wanted something that would put similar articles next to each other.

So I built a chrome extension that reads the page text, extracts keywords with a little ML, and then recommends the most similar links in your bookmarks already.

Some bookmark managers like pocket recommend articles already but these articles are from curated sources and go beyond what's inside your bookmarks already. I just wanted something that recommended articles from the things I already found interesting. This way my bookmarks become an active knowledge base and not an information dump.

Here are some screenshots of what I have so far! https://imgur.com/a/YrOMQYt

    2. 1

Interesting idea. Is there a plan to have a group formed from those visitors where they can share feedback about the website and also return to a conversation later?

      1. 1

The idea is to build "instant communities", groups of people who happen t be visiting the same page at the same moment. Chat messages are ephemeral and every time you go back to the same page, you will find a new instant community.

Building 19 products in two years at Projekt19

    1. 1

Why the goal of building 19 projects?

      1. 1

It went hand in hand with my old freelance brand Projekt19 (at the time it was just a favourite random number). Over the past few years I've been an idea dreamer but never took action because I wasn't sure which idea I wanted to start. So with 19 - I can start a handful of them and shouldn't have to worry about them. It's also a very aggressive number which makes it challenging!

Retro - agile retrospectives made easy

Building Retro - agile retrospectives made easy

If you're a project manager // scrum master, you've probably wondered:

    • Is your team really on track?
    • What are our current roadblocks?
    • How can we get better at shipping code?

    It would be great if...

    • You were able to identify issues that your team was facing.
    • Come up with a plan to address those issues.
    • Ship better products, which means more $$$

Retro is a multiplayer, real-time, online retrospective tool that will keep your meetings focused, fun, and productive. Walk away with actionable insights that will take your team from good to GREAT.

    I am working on this:
Track your workouts like a pro - getpepp.com

    1. 1

looks polished! what is the gap that you are filling with this? Why should I select this app over the more common workout apps?

      1. 1

You shouldn't select it over other workout apps. ;)

My goal is to offer syncing options for many different services. I use my Apple Watch for strength training, my Garmin when I run and sometimes I share my workouts on Strava. I want one place where I can find all my training history.

I also want to offer great visualization of training data and make it easy to track progress. That's something I think gets lost in many other services who often focus more on social aspects.

      1. 1

        Thank you @TheWonderingZall !

It's still in development. I've been working on it in the last month, but already have the landing page, almost the entire frontend of the web client and I'm starting to work on the API asap :) I'm building it in public (here, on my blog, twitter, basically everywhere :D), so you can stalk me if you wish :D

Any ideas when you might have an MVP released or are you planning a closed beta?

          1. 1

I'm planning to have the MVP ready in 3 to 5 months, depending on my work load. No closed beta is planned as of now, but this may change, based on the complexity of the operational stuff around the product. :)

    2. 2

Hey Borislav, It looks cool. We might use this for our Product Dev Cycle's. We have weekly meeting for product.

But is this also a project management tool, because I'don't want to change my existing tool to be honest.

If not, I couldn't imagine how can I integrate this to our existing flow, because we store almost everything in Google Drive

      1. 2

        Hey, @NoFunnyMan

        Thank you for your comment!

Meetlog is still in development and what you see on the landing page is just a sneak peak at some of the features.

To specifically answer your question - no, it's not a project management tool, but more like a "virtual working table", where your team conducts their meetings. It provides you with basic tools like meeting notes, todos/next-steps, file-uploading and planners (agendas), etc., etc., all in real-time, so that everyone in the meeting can contribute in a single place.

Each meeting gets added to your dashboard and is indexed, so that you can easily search and find what exactly happened on a particular meeting.

The MVP of the product is not going to have any integrations, as I'm the single developer working on it as of now and want to focus on the essence of the product.

I plan in future releases to include integrations with some of the popular conference tools (zoom, slack, discord etc...) and why not google docs/sheets. I've seen a lot of teams using the google infra (even we use it in my current job)🤘
