The Journey to 6 Million Words Transcribed ๐Ÿ‘

If that would be a Youtube like button, it would be smashed beyond belief.

6 million transcribed words in just one month! Six freaking millions! All paid users. No free loaders.

I am amazed to see how quickly Gglot grows and our competitors begin to notice! Hugs and kisses!

What are we doing so special? Are we the next Veed IO for transcription?
One thing is certain - we are 100% bootstrapped and growing fast. It's a great feeling to work on a project that pays off the bills and offers lots of value to podcast and youtube creators. After all, Gglot.com has been designed to provide a low cost (aka cheap) audio/video transcription for any kind of files: MP3, MP4, MOV, WMA, OGG, M4A, ACC, etc. It has an online editor and allows to export subtitles in VTT, SRT, and SBV formats - all acceptable by Youtube.

Question? Let's do an AMA! ๐Ÿ‘

Congrats that's great! Can you give an insight into some of the strategies you have used for getting those paying customers? I'm an engineer and am having some struggles figuring out what my next steps should be. I just barely made my product live (https://loomvue.com). Thanks for any insights. Congrats again!

      Thanks for the support!
You've built a great product, now you need to bring in some traffic. Have you tried Google Ads?

      1. 1

Not yet. Is that what you would recommend?

        1. 1

Yes, Google ads should be run from day one. But don't spend too much.
At least advertize for your own brand name like Loomvue. You will get an idea what's the target demographic is using your product: age, gender, location, and income status. Then you can replicate the same imprint to more competitive search terms.

Very happy to hear of your growth.
I am glad you raised your prices!

    Good luck.

      Thanks, Evan!
We've raise the prices only for the free users. The PRO plan user prices are without a change. Trying to beef up the subscriptions rather than one off paying customers.

    Congrats - Exciting times!

Wow great work! You don't have to give an answer if you don't want to but I'm curious if you are training your own speech to text model or using an API from one of the big dogs like GCP? :)

    1. 1

Haha, this is something I can't tell.
This question is similar as asking Sergey Bring and Larry Page of Google which variables besides PageRank they use in their ranking algorithm. They would just laugh at you. There are things that we need to keep a lid on it.

Nice! Were you able to generate subscribers in the first month too or are they still experimenting by doing the free plan + pay per use?
