What are you trying to say here @csallen ? 😆

      my thoughts precisely... lol.

If you need to work a job you are not free, that's why you should pursue fuck you money: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eikbQPldhPY

This really gels with me. I was a full time rock climber for 15 years, living in a van in Spain, Scotland & Wales and working 5 days a month as a climbing guide.

Fuck you frugality was a way of life and it was easy because everyone else was doing the same.

I have two kids now and although this changed a lot the ethos holds true - I am still amazed that people buy new cars.

If you don't know what kind of money you need in order to do what you really want to do all day, you'll never be satisfied.

The question is not "how can I get more", it's "how can I get what I need".

Great article! The part about frugality is something I can also certainly agree to an extent.

In my last post, I mentioned the cold pitches I get from companies wanting to run sponsored content. If I was on the bones of my ass, they’d probably look pretty tempting. Instead, I file them directly to spam, which I guess is the email equivalent of an extended middle finger.

I see what you did there.

Gotta get ramen profitable before I can reach "fuck you money" territory.

One person who ‘only’ makes $100k complained

Taxes are a big factor here. He probably earns something closer to $50k than $100K.

Hot take 👋 If one has X amount of money that makes one feel secure enough to say fuck you to the anyone... Well, clearly money can buy pride, but maybe not self esteem.

People who are internally secure don't need to go around taking shits on others.

"A wise man’s life is based around fuck you.”
An angsty teenager's life, for sure

I enjoyed the concept of "f*ck you frugality", the folks over at Mr Money Mustache HQ would approve.

LOVE THIS ARTICLE! I accidentally fell into the FYM approach and never looked back....
I refer to it as my buffer.. I even have it set up in Google Sheets (my digital dresser drawer)

This clip was pinned on my Twitter for a year. Very important. This one is even better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eikbQPldhPY

More people need to realise this.

That's what I call freedom. Being able to decide what, when and with whom you want to do whatever it is to be done.

Thanks for sharing. Already saved to my favorites ❤️

Really like that he touched on the spending part.
One thing I have been really cautious about is not increasing spend as our income increases.

I find part 2 better, funnier. Ha ha
