      Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. 2

Thanks for sharing very helpful tips!

@JaumeRos I see you use Ahrefs, what do you think about other tools for SEO like Ubersuggest? I wonder if I should switch from ubersuggest, I haven't used other tools yet.

    1. 2

Hey man - Yeah ubersuggest definitely does the job - especially if you're starting out.

Won't have as much in depth data, but great tool regardless!

  2. 2

Great idea and video, thanks Jaume!

Of course the challenge is getting people to use your free tool on their websites. Any suggestions for that?

    1. 1

Thanks! I think the main thing here is putting yourself in your users shoes as much as possible. Goodluck!

  3. 2

Awesome video, thank you for sharing (and creating) this! Kudos! 🤩

      Thanks for the support 🚀

  4. 2

This is exactly what I'm doing. Next week I'm releasing a free tool with the purpose of generating traffic and backlinks for katlinks.io

    1. 1

      Thats awesome, goodluck!!

So i run formlets.com. your comments is interesting in that indeed form builders have a lot of inbound links trough their form embeds but .... all your competitors have them too, so its not a competitive advantage. the bigger players have more , so rank higher.
Oh , and there are still a lot of people who think to take advantage of that by making forms with links to their own site , not realising we insert nofollow tags to stop the practice and disable all forms that are just links to other sites and not real forms.. no point in doing that.

    1. 1

      Hey Fil!

Thanks for your input. Makes sense to add no-follow for any outbound links from the form, I'm sure a lot of people try to abuse it.

And absolutely it is not a competitive advantage, but it is interesting in the world of SEO since a lot of form builders have such high DR! Definitely something that could be learned from it.

      1. 1

So whats the lesson learned ? make embeddable content and offer it with an iframe and a link to your site in the html you offer , plenty of people will just publish your html code and give you a free link to your site :)

        thinking of infographics for example

This type of links are considered unnatural by Google and might get you a penalty.

Haven't checked the others you mentioned but those "powered by Shopify" links are definitely nofollow.

    1. 1

      Hey Andrea 👋

Yep, the powered by Shopify links are definitely no-follow (as I think they should be).

But there are other examples in the video that are in fact do-follow (since they can be considered more natural) and have been working quite well for those implementing them.

Would love to know your thoughts on it.

      1. 1

Honestly I think big websites might get away with this strategy because they have tons of other links, but for smaller ones might be risky.

Anyway, I don't like this tactic but I like your videos 🙂

You can't build natural links at scale.

        2. 1

Well, it depends on which method you use! A lot of the examples in the video are natural because the user decides to place that link on their website willingly.

Take product hunt for example - You want to show off the fact that you got #1 of the day, and you place that badge on your website to give that new user trust.

          --

The point of the video was to change how we see link building and instead of doing the same thing that everyone is doing (which btw google also considers unnatural) to try and find a way to have the user do the growth for you. Providing value / some resource that they WANT to link out to you.

Hey Jaume, love this video. Keep going!

I appreciate the support - More vids coming your way!

What if the user of typeform post their form link (with custom typeform subdomain) on their website as Nofollow link?

    1. 1

      That's a great question.

The reality is with this link-building strategy you have a lot less control over the type of link you're going to receive - and that's okay. (If done correctly) These links will come completely on their own and for free - some will be do-follow and others no-follow.

At the end of the day that's what organic growth looks like!

If you want to have more control over the exact type of link you're getting (do-follow, exact match anchor, link placed on a non-orphan page, etc.) then definitely continue with standard link-building practices!

      I recommend both!
