This newsletter is different, it hits home...

Why does the newsletter I launched hit home?
For me, it describes my personal situation. It's my "skin in the game" sort of speak. Over the past year or so, my focus was to launch a profitable business somehow, someway. However, after multiple attempts things just never worked out. The chase of money was definitely one of the reasons why the failure occurred. It was the main reason and goal. Make money.

After, spending time reading here and other places, I realized most people who find success find it because they care deeply about a subject or problem and offer the value that others are willing to pay for.

On the opposite spectrum, there are many who still "failed". Looking at this closely, I thought, forget about the money for a minute and concentrate on providing value. In the subject of "Failure to Success" that's exactly what I am trying to achieve. Provide value by telling stories of business and/or founders who stuck with it, and eventually found success however that's defined for them.

This type of content is something I am passionate about. Helping others! It keeps me engaged and consistent. I think I've found my "it". Although, it would be nice to eventually replace my 9-5 that is not the goal. Rather its to provide value, motivation, and grit.

PS the name was my attempt at humor. Is it horrible?

Thanks for reading.

Paolo, it is a great realization that focusing on value and helping creates ventures, not the goal to make money. I was doing the same thing, I'm passionate about venture building and tech so I've just been "making things", and recently I realized I don't have a problem I'm dying to solve or a passion I'm just so attached to. But slowly, I'm discovering myself.

I also write blog/newsletter in the same area, I believe sharing my personal failures is the best way for me and others to learn. I don't have a name for it yet, just my personal blog/newsletter for now. Love to exchange thoughts!

Hey @kevon, it seems like were are at the same stage of sharing our experiences. I added you on Twitter to chat more.

Absolutely - let's continue to build up our voices together! I've found writing to be a way to reflect on myself and to share knowledge (and force me to learn new knowledge). It is very hard to monetize so I wouldn't aim for that, at least not think about it in the early days.

I liked the Airbnb story, really nice written +1

You could also do a podcast, would be a nice name for a podcast :D however, a bit misleading as it suggests stories around financial crimes like CumEx which is also a very interesting topic

Thanks for the feedback. You are not the first person to suggest a podcast. I wonder if I should start recording the transcript and have that available. In terms of a podcast what would be interesting enough for you to listen to it? Just reading the storyline or something more?

      The name itself well... 😂

One of my favorite podcast is Darknet Diaries. Its about hackers, breaches, shadow government activity, hacktivism, cybercrime, and all the things that dwell on the hidden parts of the network. I like the style of this podcast very much. It always tells a (visual) story mixed with interviews.
