This week I launched my MVP

After two years of research, my MVP is ready.

I'd like to introduce you to https://onyou.store - the new way to shop for sustainable and ethically-made products.

My primary motivation for building ONYOU started three years ago when I was online shopping. I was frustrated about how difficult it was to find sustainable and ethically-made fashion, beauty and skincare products. I had around twenty tabs open on my desktop, flicking through Instagram, Google, Reddit, searching through Good On You’s ratings all just to find something that fit my price point, style and my values.

And I wasn’t the only one. On Reddit alone, there are thousands of responsible consumers eager to purchase products that align with their values (see above).

Consumers are trying to be responsible citizens of the world, and they expect the same from businesses. So when it comes to purchasing, they are doing their homework. Checking labels before buying. Looking at web sites for information on business and manufacturing practices. Paying attention to public opinion on specific brands in the news or on social media.

This time last year, I decided to do something about it. I started by sending a survey to hundreds of people, posting it all over the internet, and conducting interviews with those who I’d consider an “early user”.

Armed with solutions, ideas and confidence that there could be indeed market fit, I decided to start building ONYOU - an app that aggregates sustainable and ethically-made products from reputable brands. Users can browse, filter and search through thousands of sustainable and ethically-made products all in one place. All ONYOU.

This week, I took the plunge and launched a prototype - https://onyou.store (even though there are at least 6-7 features I want before I think it's ready to be used).

I’m currently at the stage of testing - conducting interviews, observing user reactions and gathering feedback. The development map for ONYOU is looking very exciting and I’m already looking forward to delivering the next iteration with more developed features.
