Thursday Edition: Daily Stand Up!

Why?

That extra nudge of accountability to achieve even a small step on your IH journey each day.

    I am on mobile, so I’ll do a lazy standup

    Last few days: Working on a better user system that displays users per git provider installs and those in Pull manager, with an invite button.

    Today: Finish all that user stuff up, then ponder on a Team feature that will build Pull Manager Teams they can reach across git providers and accounts to allow greater dashboard/notification settings. Oh...and just got approved by Slack today. Will be publishing after I finish up the user stuff.

    EPIC: Launch Naminator, Bianna, and Dating site by end of 2019 - have at least one of them gain traction.

    Today:

    • Setup the annoying infrastructure stuff and finally deployed the backend
    • Got new homepage design from my buddy / designer, updated site.

    Tomorrow:

    • Start integrating the static front end with the backend to let people submit keywords & get results

    • Possibly deal with some SSL stuff related to deployment

      What does traction look like for you, ie how can you make that quantifiable?

        You know, good question. But my feeling is, I'd rather only set goals for things that are in my control.. I don't want to say e.g $5k / mo, i'd rather say e.g launch 3 products, write X articles, etc, i.e things I can control. Does that make sense?

      How was the field trip yesterday? Did it yield dividends?

        Oh yeah @Harlem, def got an ROI from attending. After doing 2 interviews, I got invited to an evening info session for one of the roles. Was the only one from the job fair who attended. Got another on-campus interview for next week.

        Also, I received a ton of market research from the event to compare w/ the data I've collected already.

    By end of April:

    • Validate concept.
      First day of the experiment completed and it looks promising. Average Google Ad CTR for my industry is 2.69%. Jeanius is 19.32%. Average conversion rate for my industry is 2.81%. Jeanius is 36.81%.

    Too early to break out the champagne. But Day 1 looks pretty damn good.

    LAST NIGHT (Slayed it!)

    • ✓ Start validation experiment.
    • ✓ Time box adding content to experiment.
    • ✓ Finish up Privacy Policy.
    • ✓ Publish an influencer post.

    TONIGHT

    Happy hour and movie tonight, so won't get much done. But before I go to bed I need to at least touch a social media property.

    • Get my ass back on social media.
    • Add commenting to posts.
    • Surface content to top level navigation - Jeans Reviews.
    • Surface content to top level navigation - Jeans Hacks.
    • Surface content to top level navigation - Jeans Outfits.
    • Put together weekly schedule to ensure I touch all growth hack bases.
    • Hire VA with influence posts.

    WIP: SEO efforts starting to pay off. Jeanius has gone from page 4 to page 1 . Click on the one with "Find your perfect pair of jeans".

      Congrats on that CTR and conversion rate. So you already made some money with that blog post? I'm jealous.

        Nope. But have a few orders in the cart!

        Curiously enough, I dropped from position 6 to position 91 yesterday, which is brutal. Hopefully, no one reported me. Ouch.
