Tips for Starting to Build in Public

Hey IndieHackers,

I'm Ashish, a 19 year old university student, I've been building websites and projects since I was about 12 or 13.

When I turned 18, I was pretty excited because now I could publish my software under my own name. So, I set about building a journaling app and it was pretty fun. But, the launch went about as well as you might predict.

I had no audience and marketing on Reddit brought little success. Overall, it reached about 50 users. I also have to mention, the app was not the most beautiful design-wise, and that definitely didn't help.

So, through trial by fire, I have understood the importance of building in public. I also think it'll be a good way to keep me motivated and ensure that I see it to launch.

I plan on rebuilding Introspekt (the app I initially launched) with SwiftUI in public.

And, I plan on tweeting regular updates about progress, ideas I come up with as I create.

Anything I'm overlooking/should be doing?
