I would like to post the following poem written by WH Auden (1907-1973) and called 'Funeral Blues' in loving memory of irreplaceable and extraordinary Tony Hsieh.
Funeral Blues
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message 'He is Dead',
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
Makes sense why he suddenly stepped down as CEO. He did a lot of philanthropy work in the communities. One of the pioneers for the way online retail evolved. RIP
So sad to hear this, and still so young.
We are reminded all the time that life is short. 😔

This is so sad. Tony was one of my early inspirations for becoming a maker, a developer, and an entrepreneur.
Tony was one my early inspirations too. His book was great. A sad loss.

His motto was "delivering happiness". is not what entrepreneurship all about? RIP.
Very sad. His book Delivering Happiness has been an inspiration to my entrepreneurship journey!
While he is best known for Zappos, he also started the downtown project to revive downtown Vegas - https://dtplv.com/.
RIP.
