Stop dealing with unknown callers.

Hey everyone! This is my first post here and I'm excited to share my new project.

I have a full-time SWE job and have worked on several SaaS apps.

For a long time, I used the same phone number for both my job and all my projects. Over time, I started getting a ton of random calls a day and I never knew who was calling -- or if it was just spam. I needed a better way to manage incoming calls.

I researched ways to get multiple phone numbers that all connect directly to my phone without having to call with wifi or an app. I also needed to know which category of my life the caller was calling about. For example, if I had a customer support number for website X, I needed to know that the person was calling about this website X.

There was nothing on the market, so I built the solution myself: https://fackl.com/.

I'm excited to share this with other Indie Hackers. Fackl has helped me protect the privacy of my own cell phone while allowing me to comfortably put phone numbers on all my projects' websites.

Here is an example of using a Fackl number on a project's website: https://www.intelligent.so/.

I'm initially targeting entrepreneurs like myself who have multiple projects, but I can see this expanding to other use cases too: professors who don't want to give out their actual numbers to students, famous people who don't want their actual numbers to get out, etc.

I just launched and am trying to find some initial paying users who can help provide feedback. Would love to hear your thoughts and comments!

    Hey,

This looks interesting, especially if you can set up and receive calls without any app or complicated stuff that's very good! I like that simple yet efficient idea.

The only problem I could see is if you want to contact someone yourself with one of the number, could you do it?

    Congrats for the project!

Thank you for your comment! Yes, you can both receive inbound calls and make outbound calls.

To make an outbound call, you first call your Fackl number and then you are prompted to enter in the number you'd like to dial.

Also, thanks for your note on changing the title!

By the way the title of your post was not clear, you should talk about the phone feature in the title directly because I didn't have that information
