We bootstrapped our SaaS to $50k MRR with just me and my co-founder - no employees

Amazing! What's your main acquisition channels?

    1. 2

      Short answer: Content marketing

Long answer: I plan on writing a short book that goes into detail on everything we did to acquire customers 🙂

Awesome. What little thing do you do to celebrate such milestones? 👍

    1. 1

Not enough to be honest 😅

We sent Slack messages congratulating eachother on the milestone. That was basically it haha

Hi Davis - love the site and idea - how do you distinguish yourself from your competitors given scheduling is now quite a saturated market ? How did you originally motivate yourself given the volume of competition and the fear of entering a race to the bottom on pricing ? (Although given your numbers this seems a misplaced fear :) Looking forward to buying your book. Many thanks.

Early on, we mostly distiguished on price. I tweeted something about this topic a few weeks ago: https://twitter.com/mynameis_davis/status/1402672152848044032?s=20

How are you able to grow and scale the company?

    1. 1

      Mostly through content marketing 🤓

Was that a hassle with only 2 people ? Are there any automations ?

        1. 1

Yep, whenever we do the same thing manually over and over again, we look for ways to automate it.

Sometimes that's by coding something, other times it's by creating a helpdesk article for a question that keeps popping up from our users.

          1. 1

What kind of automations are you using ? Zapier or something else ?

  5. 1

Awesome! How long did it take you to launch?

    1. 1

That depends... Vishal originally created an MVP version of OneUp before I came on board, so he probably had a year or so of building the foundation.

Once I joined, we cleaned up a lot of bugs and UI/UX fixes, and then probably launched 2 months after.

I would love to know about your product and success story.

    1. 1

What would you like to know?

      1. 1

The full story of your SaaS. What was your stretegy

Nitpicky question: the site says “ We have a worldwide team of customer advocates on standby”. Is it referring to just you and your cofounder?

    1. 3

Yep, me and my co-founder are on other sides of the world, and we both do customer support :)

      1. 1

Hahaha you're not wrong there, Davis! Brilliant !

  8. 1

    Congrats Davis!

    1. How long did it take to hit $10k MRR, $20k MRR, and now $50k MRR?

    2. Are you at liberty to share how much salary you guys take?

  9. 1

Looks like it only posted the first tweet here on IH.

If you click on the tweet, you can open the entire thread 😊

    1. 1

Hi Davis, I am not seeing any tweets in the thread on going from $10K MRR all the way to $50k MRR?
