Before we go public with any of this, I wanted to give my favorite online community, the IH crew, first look at everything that’s new in the RiteKit API: https://ritekit.com/api-demo/
Here's the new stuff:
Hashtags for images
Your competitors make users autocomplete plain text or choose hashtags from a static list per topic. You will empower your users with hashtag generation that actually works from each image, and what you provide will wow anyone who knows the power of hashtags.
We’re proud to offer the most requested endpoint ever, and the core of RiteTag: hashtags from image - and the hashtags are real-time tested for proven engagement. See Hashtag Suggestions for image and test it in the API dashboard: https://ritekit.com/api-demo/hashtag-suggestions-image
This API is what we rely on in our RiteTag consumer product: the site, browser extension and mobile app.
TIP: photos give the most and best results, especially for the Instagram hashtags. The more visual information in the photo, the better the hashtags.
New API credits system
You will see that the number of credits per call varies from endpoint to endpoint. Our costs per solution are radically different, so we now charge, for example, ⅙ the cost for the above-noted hashtags for images solution for the hashtag suggestions for text endpoint.
TIP: You can use just one or any combination of the endpoints, so it is common that if you go up by just one tier, with a lot more credits, you can offer a lot more value to your customers.
Consider using Rite.ly as your default URL shortener.
Rite.ly offers a free plan, and even when your users pay for Rite.ly, they pay $15/month for more than what Snip.ly charges $149/month for: replacing the clickable Snip.ly logo with unlimited logos. Here’s more on comparing Rite.ly with Snip.ly. Coming within days, Rite.ly will soon let anyone advertise on top of any Youtube video, Instagram post or feed, and much more.
Use Rite.ly in your product by API.
Our Company Logo API is the most versatile (transparent background), the biggest, and keeps growing.
See my comparison of our Company Logo solution with Clearbit: https://medium.com/hashtag-academy/ritekit-company-logo-api-as-alternative-to-clearbit-5e72928c3e67
We just revamped our API documentation and moved it to Postman
API sample responses are clearer and more concerns are addressed.
Need to be sure you’re making more than you are paying for the RiteKit API?
Here are a couple ways I look at using value-adds, and I hope you find them useful:
Make good products stickier: reduce customer churn and keep your customers/visitors longer with value-adds that make your app or SaaS product impossible to do without. Our API includes endpoints for hashtag suggestions, text to image generation and other functions that can be delivered to your customers.
Upsell and anchor something higher than your cheapest plan: auto-hashtagging, auto emoji and the hashtag suggestions solution help with selling higher product tiers, when used as differentiating factors. As noted above, when the best your competitors offer in hashtag help is auto completion of text, and with no social media stats, no information on how one of their hashtags might be any better than another, using our hashtag solutions can be what makes your product the platform for your customers.
That’s everything (I think…)
As always, if you consume the API and chat to us on the site, send us a couple notes, links, etc. on how you’ve used any of our API solutions and what they’ve meant to your users, we’d love to do a case study blog post and get your project some extra visibility.
