We shipped a 42 page report on the COVID19 impact on profitable indie businesses. Numbers and stats in the comments.

Hey gang, thought this would be useful for the IH crowd.

Over the course of April and May, @amyhoy talked with over a dozen indie business owners (including several you will recognize and specific observations about the IndieHackers community from the founders!) about how COVID19 impacted their business, what they've learned from the experience, and how they're adjusting.

It's not all rosy - some people have been smacked pretty hard. Others have seen basically no change in the business (not that it's easy to run a business when the world is in crisis). Some are even doing better than before!

Three major themes appeared across the lessons learned: lessons about audience selection, about the pain/problem the business solves, and the ability/preparedness for adaptation.

The interviews themselves are REALLY juicy, so we put them together as a mini-book or report that's also totally free, but we've also used to raise $1500 for COVID19 relief to support one of our most impacted communities.

    ## Since y'all like numbers, here's how that broke down:

    • 1000 views of the gumroad overlay since Tuesday. Only sources of traffic were a single email to our mailing list and some tweets.
    • 230 'purchases' including $0 purchases, or 23% conversion from traffic
    • 167 people got the report for free
    • 64 people paid $1 or more
    • 17 people paid $25 or more
    • 9 people paid $50 or more
    • 5 people paid $100+
    • $1428 paid, including a $200 direct contribution outside of gumroad
    • $6.20 average paid per report "sold"

So if money is tight right now, go ahead and grab a copy for free. If you're doing well, consider chipping in a few bucks for the report to take us over the $2000 mark with our donation.
