We want to promote your early-stage product for free

Reid Hoffman, founder of LinkedIn, famously once said... "If you’re not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you launched too late."

One challenge we have as Indie Hackers is we spend too much time on products before launch. One reason for this, I believe, is that there are very few bridges to places like Product Hunt.

Product Hunt is not the first channel you use to get your first set of users. It's the second channel you use once you have that small starting set.
Demand Curve

That’s why @jakobgreenfeld and I started Indie Drops. Our goal is to help Indie Makers get that small starting set of users.

Product Hunt is a great place for product launches, but it is no longer the best place for early-stage product launches.

Indie Drops is a weekly newsletter featuring products that are early-stage or are still rough around the edges.

If you’re interested in having your product featured, give us a shout on Twitter, or feel free to shoot an email.

      Nice... added to the list.

  36. 2

Interesting. Is this the AppSumo for indie products?

    1. 1

Right now we see Indie Drops as more of a Bridge to Product Hunt than a reseller of software. We're not disqualifying anyone that's already launched on Product Hunt but most Makers haven't out of fear.

We ask Makers to offer deals to consumers as an incentive for spending their time and money on an early-stage product.

We want to encourage consumers to take a leap of faith on something new built by someone they've never heard of.

      1. 2

        That's nice. I'm interested!

        I've subscribed.

  51. 2

Definately interested in doing this for app.ruttl.com!
@dkh Sending you a mail on your gmail id, look out for it!

    1. 1

Ruttl looks awesome 😯, congrats on getting to beta! Will be on the lookout. What's the story behind the name?

      1. 2

Haha glad to hear that! It's actually an abstract name I made up from the word "Ruttle". I wanted to name the product something that is very easy and short to pronounce.

  52. 2

Cool idea Daniel. Growing your content sources on #growth seems kind of meta to me somehow!
I pinged Jakob to drop BrainTool into the top of your funnel.

    1. 1

Hahaha definitely a meta moment🤘sounds good, thanks for sharing.

  53. 2

This sounds super. We would be very interested in this for Startup Sanctuary @dkh. Shooting you an email now.

    1. 2

Nice tagline... "Build the Business of You." Would love to share.

      1. 1

Thanks @dkh. Just emailed you also.

  54. 2

Not sure if my product qualifies. Launched 3 months ago.

    1. 1

We're judging what's eligible on a case by case basis, it really depends on a lot of different factors. One thing I'll say for certain is we won't feature products from big companies like Stripe or Notion even though we love them both!

Definitely drop me an email, happy to chat more about your product.

      1. 1

        Sure. Will send. Thanks
