We went into a crowded market and got to 9,000 users and $300k revenue. Here are my most important learnings.

Anan here, Founder & CEO of Listnr Tech (https://www.listnr.tech/) and Listnr FM (https://www.listnr.fm/) - we build SaaS tools to help users create Podcasts easily without spending a ton of cash and time.

Here are my key learnings while launching Listnr 👇

  1. Mistake - Launched too early, yes, you read that right. We're not the usual startup story when the founder waits months to launch and perfects/polishes their product as much as possible.
    We should've waited at least a few months before launch, because our product was too buggy and led to hundreds of angry users and support requests, and needless to say A LOT of churn.

  2. For the first 4-6 months, listen to your customers, and ONLY your customers. Nobody else matters.
    No investor, friend, influencer, etc can make your product successful, only your customers can.

  3. Setup an Admin dashboard before you launch - this is something we should've done before launching too, having an admin dashboard helps you do things on the go, like changing emails, passwords, subscription plans, etc. saves a lot of time for customer support requests in the long run.

  4. Block out the haters, I know I know, this is an obvious one, but it's easier said than done.
    There will be a lot of naysayers at the beginning of your journey -
    "How is this diff from XYZ"
    "How is this gonna make money?"
    You get the point, politely listen to them, and just get back to work.

  5. Lifetime Deals - this is a big one. We owe all our early growth to Lifetime deals, without them, we wouldn't have achieved even 10% of what we have.
    They're not for everyone though.
    A few things to think about before you launch an LTD for your SaaS 👇

  • Am I going to be able to sustain these users for the next 3 years, just from the revenue I get from the LTD campaign. if the answer is yes, then go for it.
  • What are my profit margins? Less than 70%? if yes, then LTD might not be the way to go for you.

    Congratz on the achievement and thanks for sharing !

    I've question about the LTD,
    I joined some LTD groups and I'm totally shocked from the behavior of people there,
    It seems like they think they bought you for life for 50-100$.

    Why did you chose the LTD route, is it because of the need for cash ?

    I'm also working on a product and I'm really close to launch and I'm not sure if I should offer LTD.

        Do you think launching for free without commitment and then adding paid features might be a better road ?

          Thats definitely a better road imo, its something Veed.io did too when they launched and now they're at $5m ARR if im not wrong
