Week of prep and thinking

This week I've working on getting the site ready for having a demo. That involves getting a dev and production environment going on AWS and Vercel (just been using one just environment for dev so far). AWS is where most of that work will happen. I’m using Serverless Framework and have been implementing the AWS CDK for infrastructure via Severless Frameworks extension of CDK; Serverless Stack Toolkit (SST).

Still thinking on some things others said in a post I had last week, especially from @mattgillooly, there’s some good fodder there about niche’s and creating my own content to demonstrate how this tool could be useful. I'm trying to find the balance of time on hand, motivation, and project goals. I like his idea of creating my own content to show how this tool could help others.
In that vein I'm considering doing a podcast that would be technical heavy but specifically presented in a way that one could listen while walking, doing their dishes, or commuting.
The idea being that you get the higher level understanding of whatever is being talked about and then the detailed description of code. While listening you could glance at your phone to see the current section of code or follow the link of whatever happens to be talked about in that moment. Then when you get back to your computer you have all the code available and relevant links in the show notes.

It's not clear to me just how well this podcast concept would pan out but I have some ideas for subjects and may just need to give it a go and see how it feels on my own first. I like that the fodder for this could come from my daily work and I could personally benefit from this while being able to dogfood the app. That's good for my motivation and time on hand because I can get content as my day goes....possibly.

I wanted to go back and talk about Severless Framework a bit. While my experience with it has been limited to this project I’ve found their tutorial site very helpful in learning their framework and they have what I think is a pretty new Slack workspace where I've already harassed them with some questions. It's been a source that has helped me grok (as much as I have so far) a serverless workflow on AWS.

Cool to see you're making progress, but I'm worried that creating your own podcast just to demonstrate this product could be a huge time suck and distraction. What I was suggesting in my previous comment was that you take existing podcasts, but you'd add the metadata yourself to demonstrate the value of the platform.

Perhaps you can find a willing beta tester who already has a podcast. Maybe in the Podcasters group here on IH, or you could even talk to @csallen about adding metadata to the official Indie Hackers podcast.

      You're absolutely right, Matt.
I slipped into thinking that I could do something like a podcast (no matter how simple I was trying to think I could keep it) and show how the tool would work along with me doing something that I could show for myself (and sounds like fun!).
I'll reign myself in and try to keep it focused.

Thanks for calling me out on it, that's what I needed to hear!
