Weekly Update: 8/30 - 9/05

Unlike my superhuman peers (looking at you @borislav and @onerinas), I've got but one lonely project in the works - Dub (https://dub.so), a podcast hosting platform built on top of Notion. Here's my update for this week.

🚀This week

  • Now that I'm gathering all relevant data in Supabase from the uploader, I can generate real RSS XML!
  • The uploader needs form validation
  • I've been... sort of avoiding dealing with branding and design - I need to change that this week

Next week

  • I'll validate the generated RSS feeds
  • I'll begin working on a podcast import feature
  • I'd ideally like to get a community spun up around those who have signed up for the waiting list - probably something like Discord for now

🙃Struggles
The day job has been unusually demanding this week, so progress on Dub has been slow. I'm taking this as a sign that I need to improve my time management skills, so I'll be doing some research on how exactly to do that.

how nice! I wasn't aware there was a Weekly Updates group. Will be joining next week!

Awesome work Adam, as @borislav said, keep pushing! 👊

you and I are on the same boat, for me though it's marketing. I tend to put that on the back burner. Once I wrap up my MVP of my extension product I'm going to dedicate time on marketing

Thanks Miguel! Marketing is such a broad term that I'm still trying to figure out what that even means for Dub. I'm hoping that some of my early access users will be open to interviews so I can dig deeper into this.

that's great, interviews from early access users, I think, are the best approach to getting product-market fit.

Let us know how that goes!

Great work, Adam. Keep pushing. 👊

I found pomodoro and loose time-boxing to be really helpful. Try it ;)

Thanks Borislav, I've heard some good things about pomodoro. Loose time-boxing sounds great too - I may just start blocking my calendar off.

@selectalldelete I haven't really shipped anything during the week days too. I usually do it early morning but that didn't really happen this week. So whatever got done was by sacrificing the weekend 😔

Yep, weekend work is the way to get it done a lot of the time. My friends don't even ask what I'm up to anymore - they just assume I'm working on side projects 😂
