Weekly Update: 9/13 - 9/19

Here's my progress update on TurboNav

✅ What got done:
I shared on Twitter last Friday what got done, I'm pretty happy with my progress on the saved link tag organization typing experience.

There was a bug I had to overcome last week, it helps when you're a part of the library's community. In my case, I'm using Slate JS and a Slack community exists for it. So I shared my issue and got some pointers, but this did the trick 👉digging around their examples code and pulling it locally to play around with the code examples.

🎯 What's the next steps:
Continue to work on saving links using tag organization.
I'm going to focus first on an offline-first experience. After some thinking, this makes the first iteration approachable.

I'll be able to release an MVP version quicker. Online cloud support will come later on

This should help with the scope and help with starting to get users ASAP.

🥶 Struggles:
So in my tweet, I discussed how rough it went trying to conduct an informal interview. I got very helpful advice. Two friends on Twitter shared with me https://deployempathy.com/. So will be reviewing this book. Actually, I spotted that Michele was on the IH podcast this morning and had a listen. It was enlightening, definitely check it out: 👉 https://www.indiehackers.com/podcast/224-michele-hansen

I too struggle with asking questions “Mom Test” style. It’s a skill that needs to be learned through trial and error, but in the beginning it’s just difficult to know what to ask.

I think focusing more on just having a conversation with the person rather than any specific agenda may be a strategy that I’ll try next.

yup, that's exactly how I've felt about my first attempt. I got stuck.

I agree on just having a conversation rather than having an agenda, definitely plan on giving that a shot next time I chat with someone

    Great job. Keep going!
