Welcome, introduce yourself! (Week of Feb 21st)

Rosie here -- the Indie Hackers community manager. Welcome! 👋

This short guide is meant to help you get the most out of Indie Hackers.

First, introduce yourself!

Indie Hackers is a community of people helping each other build profitable businesses and side projects. The key word here is "community." Don't be shy!

For starters, take a second to introduce yourself and share your goals in the comments below. 👇

Just say a few words about who you are, why you're here, and what you hope to accomplish or learn.

Take a moment to say hello to someone else as well!

Dive into learning.

We've interviewed hundreds of successful indie hackers. I recommend reading a few of their stories. It's a great way to get an overview of what's possible.

If you prefer audio to reading, check out the Indie Hackers Podcast Network and find a show you like.

Now is the best time to start.

There's no time like the present. Check out the "Start Here" page for a list of practical steps and articles that can help you take action.

Not only will it help you get started, but it should also introduce you to some of the best parts of the Indie Hackers community.

Good luck!

This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you're ever feeling lost or confused, post a question in the Meta group, or tag me (@rosiesherry) in any comment or post.

Don't forget to introduce yourself and say hi to someone else below! 🤗

Hi everyone, I'm Alex and I'm a software engineer based in Berlin, Germany. I've been primarily building apps on iOS for nearly 10 years, but I put my technical skills to work in backend and search applications as well. I've been working for a big company here in Berlin, which inspired me to build Truffle. Truffle is the wiki-killer: it takes conversations you have had in Slack and uses them to help your team get answers to questions fast. You can check it out at https://truffle.bot.

I'm really excited to launch this product, and I'm looking forward to connecting with everyone on Indie Hackers!

    1. 2

This looks very interesting! Can you publish the slack bot demo to try it out? People might be more willing to give up their email if they can experiment with it (even if it's a beta).

Edit: I've seen atspoke.com before, which is more of a ticketing system, but also builds a knowledge base from disconnected customer queries. So I think there is a market for this :)

      1. 2

Hey, thanks! The thing is, I can't really show a demo really so easily. It's something that needs to be installed into a Slack workspace for it to work. I'm trying to figure out the next steps to solve this problem, and I've got two ideas for this:

        • Improve the demo video to explain better and in more detail what Truffle is all about
        • Allow people to join a Slack workspace that has a guided demo

I'm going to work on the video first, since it's already there, but I would love to get to the guided demo working too! (It will be harder to do)

I hadn't seen atspoke before, it looks like a similar addressable market to Truffle. I've seen https://backhq.com/, though, which seems similar as well.

I'll share an update when videos and demos are done!

    2. 1

Seems like a really cool product Alex. The idea of retaining all of our insights from Slack is interesting to me. Not just Slack, all communications channels! I just subscribed to your mailing list, I'm keen to keep an eye on developments.

If you'd be interested in a conversation regarding user testing I'd be happy to connect and bounce some ideas around.

      1. 2

Hi, thanks! I agree, with other comms channels, the product has a really big vision that I want to grow it into. I’ll take you up on user testing, I’ll send you an email :)

Hi everyone! This is Romie. I am an aspiring multipreneur. I am from the Philippines, but based in Madrid, Spain.

Currently, while working my 13-hour a day full-time job, I am also building my business (an e-learning platform especially targeted to Filipinos since they are more comfortable supporting a local online school). Two months after announcing my course and a month after releasing my course, I currently have around 900 students.

I am new to putting out myself and milestones on the internet so I have newly created social media platforms:

    Twitter - www.twitter.com/romiecarillo
    LinkedIn - to follow

Excited to get to know people here!

    Hi Rosie,

It's a pleasure to connect with you and the Indie Hackers community.

I founded Loylty Rewardz Mngt Pvt Ltd in 2008, and worked as the Founder & CEO for 10 years. I raised over USD 26 million (INR 160 Crores) of venture capital investment into Loylty Rewardz through Series A, B and C investment rounds.

In 2017, Loylty Rewardz was acquired by BillDesk at a valuation of about USD 100 million. Venture Capital investors exited very profitably.

I have started a new global venture Houm Technology Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this physical world, we keep all our personal things at home. And home is private.

However, in the digital world, we do not have a personal space, like a digital home to keep our digital things. We end up keeping all our digital things on platforms owned by other companies, and then, we complain about loss of privacy.

Houm is an innovative product that helps you create a Digital Home on the internet with legal ownership. A place where you can keep your digital stuff private, and not accessed by any person, company or software but ONLY YOU.

Ello Rosie Sherry. What a beautiful name. Gives positive resonance when spoken. My birthday is today today so I thought what better time to gain more knowledge than now. I'm only turning 55... I have been a machinist all my life. Manual machinist, then leaned to code the ole tape fed NC machines and now I program CNC machines using Cad software. My skills are nothing compared to what elementary children are learning. I would like to learn everything I can. Including java script and coding.
Parametric programming on a 6 axis machines isn't like the old days anymore. A pencil and your handy trig book to calculate formulas, angles, etc. There has to be thousands of them. No. Not the machines come with conversational programming. Operator just inputs the drawing and material, and thats it. Unbelievable. A lot of CNC programmers gonna be out of work soon. But anyway. That's me.

Terry here, founder of Boardly, simplest planning board. Found this community through reddit. Thought it was cool.

I just started Boardly a couple of weeks ago, and after reading the description of IndieHackers, decided to join this community. Hopefully I can learn something and help others along the way.

    Hello everyone:

Can't believe I have not engaged with Indiehackers before.

I am a non coder building an MVP on Bubble (which I am learning) designed to help people navigate confusing government programs and benefits to help seniors, i.e. old folks. There are 45 million over 65 in the US, most need government help.

I am a B2B enterprise Growth (sales and marketing) pro, was part of a successful Salesforce ISV exit in 2019. Going to apply to YC in March.

Big challenge, finding potential users. Excited to learn from the community!

    Regards,

Hello @rosiesherry Glad and excited to join the group! Happy to have found it. My name is Montana and I am the founder of the tech startup spotivity (www.spotivity.com). We help teens find meaningful afterschool programs – and soon we will do so globally! I’m a non-tech tech founder who has needed to find interesting solutions to startup problems. We are still alive and kicking and looking forward to learn more. Also – if you know any teens please let them know that we have an open survey (in conjunction with research work we are doing with Dartmouth) https://dartmouth.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5dKb1G3GuHKnnTg and all the inputs possible would be great. And yes, there is a raffle and prizes for participation! Rock on. Montana.

Hi! My name is Grazia Colabufo and I was a lawyer for about 9 months before developing an out-of-this-world mercury poisoning (get it?) in the brain. :). Basically, at 25 I had environmental/toxic Alzheimer's (want to change that name) and I had to stop being an -environmental- lawyer (the irony) to become a potato for 3 years while my partner somehow waited on me hand and foot. I am now recovering and wish to change the experience of toxic alzheimer's from those dying from it, possibly by building an awareness village for this terminal pandemic.

Hello. I'm Marcus and I'm a software engineer. I was working for a big company and was laid off due to COVID-19. I've been trying to get a job during that time and have been unsuccessful but also thought that maybe I need to make a plan for starting something on my own while trying to find a job outside of programming for now. I hope to be held accountable for my side projects and learn more about planning and gain the confidence to embark on starting a business.

I'm looking forward to meeting and connecting with many of you here!

Hello. I'm software engineer from Finland mainly working with backend and devops. I was contacted by some research company via LinkedIn about Amazon Aurora Mysql. This can also be a great opportunity for you to receive 60$ gift card by answering a survey. It will take only 10 minutes to complete but pay attention on questions. They really need someone who works or knows Amazon Aurora Mysql

Hi, I'm Mike and I'm an optics hardware engineer.

I co-founder Moment Lens (www.shopmoment.com) and design all their optics stuff... Also did some cool cinema projects such as projection lenses for QT's Hateful 8 and the Red Pro Prime lenses.

I have a marketplace called Lensfinder.com and I recently lost my developer. I'm working to build up that site as well as launch a B2B version for industrial lenses.

While I like reading inspiring stories, I'm also looking for a partner/developer that is passionate about photography and cinematography.

I've made the mistake of NOT learning enough about web development during my Lensfinder.com journey.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm Chris, a software developer. I'm building several Minimum Viable Products in 2021, in my spare time, to see if any can find an audience.

My first attempt is https://www.portspider.com - this is "nmap as a service". I wrote it because I was occasionally starting Digital Ocean VMs just to check the open ports on my public IP addresses and my employer. I wanted something which I could just set-up and forget.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else is making here.

I'm Tarik and I'm from a small city in Bosnia and Herzegovina called Tuzla. I work full time as an iOS developer in my hometown working on a SIP phone/chat application and I really like it. In my free time I like to work on side projects and I built air quality monitor app for my country (https://zrak.app/).

Hi friends! My name is Eddie Goldbeck and I'm a ServiceNow Architect / Solopreneur based in Los Angeles, California. I have a "Jack of All Trades" pedigree from cutting my teeth in IT operations, first as a one-man-IT-band in education and then as a leader of people, processes and technology at a startup that went "to the moon" post-IPO. Right now my goal is to sell my services until I generate enough work to start taking on staff. You can take a look at my website here http://goldbecktechnology.com, I'd love your opinion as fellow solopreneurs!

I actually was referred to this channel from one of my entrepreneur slack channels so I'm excited to see what I can learn here. Looking forward to both gleaning and providing value to the team!

    Hello everyone,
I'm Jonathan and I have a lot of motivation in creating a Startup. I have been in a competition of Startups from a group of Universities in Barcelona, but I didn't like a lot the experience, because I was the only one working in the project. So I came here to find people to help me in the process or to join into my path.
I'm currently working in creating a platform for travelers influencers. I'm doing the frontend with Flutter. I've almost finish the design. I have no idea in backend, so I'm also doing a course in Udemy for learning Golang.
I would like to find a partner, who is motivated in creating a Startup and who is willing to learn whatever it takes to go forward in the project.

    Hi all, I'm Shaun.

Really excited to be on IH and hopefully pick up tips & advice along the way.

We (my business partner & I) have built a micro wiki tool called Entrypage. It helps you create private or public web pages which become the front page for your project.

I guess you could say it's like Linktree meets Confluence.

    https://entry.page

It's a side project we developed for our own use. When we work on a project for a client we always have to provide a micro wiki that's quick and easy to edit.

The wiki gives our clients an overview of the 3rd party tools and important information they need to manage their product. Here's an example of an Entrypage created for a web development project - https://entry.page/web-development-wiki/

Hello Everyone, I'm Alessio, a software engineer and entrepreneur from Italy but based in Bali, Indonesia where I live with my partner and 4 young children.

I started my first SaaS business in 2016 to help airbnb hosts and property managers with their guest registration and administration needs, https://mymaisonapp.com. That is currently making around 6k/month but growth has stalled since the pandemic started.

I'm starting a new project to help other SaaS founders supercharge their growth with up-selling - I know first hand how difficult it can be and how much work that requires.
BillUp makes it easy to setup up-selling strategies that connects with stripe and provides a 1-click upgrade experience to the user within your app. https://getbillup.com

Other than that, I'm eager to genuinly connect with other founders and chat about life, parenting, business, etc...

    Thanks for reading.

    Hello Rosie and Indiehackers,

I have been a reader of IndieHackers for the past few weeks. Finally, I am here. This is Venkat from a small town in India.

I am trying to make simple Job boards - https://www.sairemotejobs.com/

    A SaaS Directory -. https://www.saasdirectory.co/

And, I am working on making useful resource for Product Startups. I am yet to publish the resources.

    https://www.productstartups.com/

I wish to create a small company where I can give jobs to few people. Not sure if that would happen but I wish my dream comes true. When I starting this journey in Indiehackers, I feel happy.

    Good luck to you

    Venkat

Hi indiehackers! I am Miha Stopar from Slovenia. For the last couple of years, I do research and implementation of cryptographic protocols. That's not why I am here though. Three years or so ago I started doing mathematics with kids (mine and of my friends) - just trying to visualize and build stories around mathematical concepts. The virus situation stopped our weekly meetings a year ago and now I am trying to digitalize the whole thing. There is still a lot to do, but hopefully I can share something in a few months.

My name is Taylor, and I'm the founder of GameStake.com - the world's first ever platform that brings up-and-coming eSports amateurs and retail investors together to exchange capital for a share in the success of teams/players. What allows for this is our proprietary legal structure, and in doing so we will be pioneering a $900B+ USD market of an entirely new alternative asset class.

I'm excited to engage with other entrepreneurial, driven individuals; to listen, learn, and share.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Looking forward to engaging with this community more :)

    Hi everyone,
I'm Nazzareno, CTO at myD3SIGN. We are building a large catalog of branded products 3D replicas for architectural visualization. Despite other companies already doing this for offline rendering software, we focus on providing ready-to-use assets for Unreal Engine, so that architects and creative professionals can design faster, can interact live with clients and shape their projects together. It's a priority for us to digitalize only products and finishes that have a real equivalent on the market, so every brand and every manufacturer can have its products added to the platform, the architects can use them to design the spaces and this can lead to sells for anyone in the market.

This is just our main focus right now and many other things are in the pipeline. Hopefully I will be able to show you more pretty soon!
For now I am really glad to be part of the family here on Indie Hackers and interact with all of you!

Hey everyone, I'm Nick and new to Indie Hackers - seems like an awesome community and just the one I need!

I'm not a coder, but built a web app recently through Bubble. It's a place to store and share the books you're reading (and want to read) with friends called Suite Books (https://suitebooks.io).

Always love hearing stories about what others are building and how they go about it, so look forward to connecting!

    Hey guys!
I am Shahzaib Malik (Call me Shazz!), I am a generalist with no degree. I manage a team of 25 sellers that would sell anything like cakes! - through years, I have been doing high-ticket affiliate sales with some of the top brands in U.S.A. With my team, I have been able to lift up dead brands with all the digital and physical tools available on a given ground. I love working with early brands, build their sales velocity and market exposure and bring them on the pace they deserve to be on. I am looking forward to connect with everyone out there to share my strategies and experiences that might help them avoid a thousand dollar mistake. :)
    Good Day!

Hi hackers, I'm Harry from London. I'm a 3rd time founder, one successful, one not so successful and I'm currently developing the MVP for my latest baby, a digital wellness brand designed for the over 60s. I've joined Indie Hackers to surround myself with like minded entrepreneurs, share my experiences, and get feedback and advice on the MVP to product market fit journey. If anyone has experience building MVPs, and digital platforms, then please give me a shout - thanks!

Hi all, I'm a co-founder at fethr, a social platform that lets you socialise with compatible people nearby while doing your favourite activities.

Excited to join Indie Hackers, as there are times when I find the startup life quite tough (to say the least), and looking to connect with fellow founders for advice, moral support and community!

Message me if you're interested in finding out more about me and fethr, and share startup war stories!

Hey I'm Peter, currently living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I want to spend some time dusting-off and expanding a few side projects that have been laying around for too long.

It's really fun to hack together a demo for an idea, getting user adoption and finding the correct fit is the hard part. Wanted to join here to hold myself accountable :)

  68. 1

I am a developer looking to work on a new side project and want to take a crack at building a side hustle or a new project within a community like indie hackers. So, I decided to join.

Hi! I'm a freelance application developer for 13 years, mostly helping small businesses and startups. Besides that I also run a co-working:
    https://www.strijpcs.nl/

My specialty is lean product development, my customers choose me because I effectively translate business strategy into development strategy, especially what (not) to build and in what order for a certain quality. Mostly I also help them move quickly by actual programming.

After helping others succeed for all these years I've decided to invest into my own projects now. Looking at starting a business I'd say customer acquisition is the thing I need to work on first.

This first is a gamification app for foosball at the office. I've been testing and developing this at my office for over a year now:
    https://www.officefoosball.com/

The other one I'm using at home with my wife to track drinks of our baby so we can prepare her upcoming drinks better:
    https://babyburpapp.com/ (only dutch for now)

Currently I'm looking into cost-effective ways to get traffic to these projects to start testing / learning on a bigger scale.

    Hi all,

    Hi folks!

I am Manfredi and I have been working in Cyber Security for 3 years. I am already an hacker (but of a different kind: i.e. ethical hacker ahah).

I have always been in love with coding, and I realized I am not doing it enough, so I signed up here to do some interesting connection that could lead to something exiting!

Feel free to hit me up :)

    Greetings!
I just turned 18. My dream for the past two years has been to become financially independent so I can dedicate most of my time to my writing. Recently I learned I do have the power to start making money now so I begun working on my first buisness. Which consists of offering writing classes. I already have plans for my next 3 buisnessess and I think they will be way better, but I want to see this one through to learn as much as I can before jumping to the others. I invest. I read a lot. And any help or direction is incredibly appreciated!
    Cheers!

Hi guys. I'm a finnish solo entrepreneur with loads of ideas and enthusiasm but my main focus is building an international company providing UI and UX services. i'm a little shy and careful in my steps and afraid of taking risks. I hope there's someone who can relate 😳😅

  75. 1

Hi everyone, I just thought about creating a profitable mobile app, get the idea, so i asked a friend of my mine who is a mobile app developer to give me advice from where to start, and one of the start point he mentions was indiehackers, i'm still exploring this community, first time i hear about it, i'm an electronic engineer 5 years now and still working at a company on hardware design, but i think it came the time to start and focus in parallel on a personal project, i'm far from software engineering, so i start to read about how things are made especially mobile apps and their back-end, i had some money and want to invest it carefully on this project, so why one the of advice i was looking from this friend, is how to be sure that this app will not work from the beginning, to not not loose it on this idea, to work on another one, or a different type of project.
Hope this journey with this community help me to take the right decisions to advance on this subject, what i can help in, is the people who work on hardware design, from Iot to embedded systems, sensors, CAP to use, fell free to ask.
    Have a good day everyone!

  76. 1

Hey everyone. I'm Zachary. I've worked as a software engineer for the last five years, and find the indie hacker and bootstrap startup communities fascinating. Not exactly ready myself to take on the world, but hope to learn and contribute in any way I can from my current post.

Slack is a very good online collaboration tool in addition to Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Gomeetnow etc. Slack can replace email, text messaging, and instant messaging for your team, and keep all those communication styles together in one app. With both desktop and mobile versions, Slack can help your team collaborate and coordinate their work no matter where they are — in the field office, at home, or out knocking doors.

Hey all, I'm a product designer with 14 years of experience and after designing successful products for so many years I decided it's time to build my own. I am currently building Reeview.app - did an MVP test on Shopify with great results and I am planning to launch the product mid March and also announce the seed round.

Follow my progress on https://twitter.com/claudiucioba #builtinpublic

Very excited about this community and how active you all are! AMA about product design, I've helped Uber in 2016 with their sign up process to increase growth and successfully helped +30 SaaS companies with full product redesigns.

    Hi everybody!
I've listened to the podcast for a few years and have been inspired by the stories so far. I'm working towards becoming an Indie Hacker myself.
My background is in front-end development, but I've lately piled on some full-stack skills. I don't know what I'll build yet, but I love making cool things.
My biggest challenge will be not obsessing about the things I put out there being perfect.
I hope to find another solo founder, whom I can enter into a mutual accountability-setup to ensure we both get things done. Hit me up if that's also one of your weaknesses :)
I'm excited to begin the journey!

    Hello,
I currently work at a marketing agency but have been working on my SaaS for the last few months- a platform for freelancers to track time, invoice and get paid (going to be hunting for beta testers soon).
I come from a non-technical background, so building using no-code has been pretty exciting and I'm amazed by how much no-code is capable of.

Have been following indie-hackers on twitter for the past month or so- thank you for the growth bites- they add real value!

  85. 1

    Hi all,
I'm Niklas and I'm a consultant based in Düsseldorf, Germany. I have just launched a curated weekly newsletter for founders and investors about the startup world. The idea is to save busy people time and effort by providing them with key insights from Twitter, Blogs, Podcasts, and more.

I would be happy to get in touch with like-minded people on Indie Hackers and discuss the topic.

Hi everyone! I'm a Product Manager by trade, based in NYC.

I'm a productivity junkie - you can check me out on reddit at /u/lotusdotso & in the /r/productivity discord.

I also like to tweet about SaaS and financial markets: @harrisonjohnson

I'm working on a knowledge base to replace Confluence for modern product teams - we're working at www.driveway.app if you want to see our changelog or subscribe to updates.

How I can help - I'm happy to give advice on fundraising! I'm also more than happy to test out people's apps, give UX feedback, talk about go-to-market.

    Nice to meet you all!

    Hi 👋
I'm Jawad, 3x founder going maker, I was running a AI hedge fund for the past 4 years, but I got sick of it and the " traditional finance" industry.

In a startup everybody supports you and cheers you on, in a hedge fund everybody thinks you are a theif and a lair! Which I can understand, alot of shitty things in the industry haha, I left my position and just on BOD now.

I just started building stuff I enjoy 😊 one of the first is a podcast targeting people who are struggling internally to start a project or side hustle "The Resistance". I built the website using notion, learned how to do illustrations (never did either) as a part of showing my audience, with time and practice you can learn anything. www.thinkingbackwards.co

I can go on hahah but that's me 0-100 real quick.

    Hello everyone,
My name is Sunni and I am the CEO of Black Logics. Black Logics is a startup company geared to aid landscape architects and general contractors in saving time and money. I have been in the construction industry for over 14 years and now ready to try a different avenue. I am looking for a co-founder to develop the software (preferably a woman). I have the contacts and the idea on a spreadsheet, but no product.

I am new to the platform, but ready to learn about it and the community.

  89. 1

Hi Rosie Sherry and anyone else who reads this, it is a pleasure to have found indiehacker from a reddit comment. Trying almost any and as many methods possible to grow my startup. Hopefully this community becomes prosperous and I happily return the favor to this community. Quite a unique approach, so far it is a comforting feel that I may be on the right path. I work amongst mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineers (and more, just to give an idea) creating products that are beneficial to society's advancement. Rather avoid giving a long read, overall thank you for reading to the end.

Hey, I'm a former derivatvies trader, and launched my 1st venture after Masters in London, when apparently I had too much experience to be hired. I work on what I believe in, whatever shape or form. My 2 start-ups are in Neuroscience-tech and Biotech, as I learnt from my struggles with Dr's & medical system that change was needed. Looking to hire a Software Engineer and someone for predictive learning. I learn from others and we know very little off the brain so it will be a journey of surprises
    Cheers

    Hey everyone,
I’m a 17 year old student living in London and currently in my final year of studying Information Technology. I enjoy programming, learning about entrepreneurship and keeping up to date with tech. Overall, I just love technology because of the endless capabilities.

I want to become an Indie Developer with my skills of learning about programming constantly. I'm a still beginner in Python and HTML/CSS but know my tech savviness will push me to start a business. I'm still not 100% sure about what I want to do in my career, or what business to start, but being an entrepreneur is on top that list for sure.

Hi All. I've recently found Indie Hackers and feel inspired to try my hand at a simple app I know is useful to me and a few folks I know. It is my first entry into building an application. I used to program w/ C++ and Java eon's ago and know this will be different and much has changed. I am hoping my foundation still is relevant. I look forward to contributing here and hopefully inspire someone else to take the chance. I'll post good/bad and ugly as often as I can.

    Hi all!

I am new to Indie making, still learning! I have been a content creator and a marketer for about 3 years now. I beginning my side project building today, with NoCode/Low-code. I don't have a tech background. Looking to learn new founders and builders, and interviewing them for my podcast. I am looking to hone skills in Product, investing, online marketing, design and growth hacking with content.

Hi everyone, my name's Adam. Serial optimist from the UK. I have a few side hustles outside of my day to day work as a Product designer. However my latest driver is my aim to tackle bias and misinformation in the mainstream media by giving a platform to domain experts to challenge it. I'm trying to connect with engineers who want to give their time to try and help do the same 👍 It's currently on Kickstarter called FACTIVISM
but has a ludicrous financial goal as the lofty ambitions for chat platform, publishing platform and browser plugin were way too high. I'm stripping it down to MVP and trying again.

My name is Jason, most of my friends call me Hashrocket. I've been working online for the past twenty years. I've started two companies (that you've never heard of) worked for one EdTech startup you also probably never heard of.

I have six years of experience planning, architecting, and building ERP and WMS systems. I've worked with manufacturing, wholesale and retail operations.

I primarily work in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript (including TypeScript, React, VueJS, Node), GraphQL, Postgres/MySQL, and PHP when I'm feeling retro.

Hi everyone, I am Utkarsh. I work as a Technical Consultant.I have experience in Cloud, DevOps, Microservice, Blockchain, MERN, etc. I co-founded my company with my cousins. We have built 2 MVPs. I want views from community and help in taking the next steps to pitch clients, marketing, etc.

  114. 1

    Hi All,

I'm Jon, and I am a cybersecurity and business strategy consultant who has a tech startup idea in the A/R space. I'm also a world builder on an upcoming space MMO. I'm very comfortable with product and game design, can make a mean wireframe, and can articulate technical concepts well, but I am not a developer, and I am looking for my technical cofounder to put my designs into code.

The project I am trying to start has two phases; the first phase is relatively straightforward, a few tricky pieces that borrow ideas from game design and apply them in A/R, but nothing earth-shattering. The second phase is tackling some pretty complex data interpretation and modeling problems, some of which (as I understand from developers I have already talked to) fall in the realm of "theoretically possible, but nobody we know of has ever done it yet." It entails a lot of quaternions, predictive 3d modeling of occluded spaces, object recognition, etc. Not for the faint of heart.

For Phase 1, I am looking for a competent full-stack A/R app developer who will be paid, and may get some very limited equity. But if you are the type of badass who can handle both Phase 1 and Phase 2, that's what I am looking for as someone who get's full cofounder honors. If either of those roles sounds like you, let's talk.

Beyond that, I'm mostly just curious about the community, what's going on in the indie development world. If my big idea is too ambitious for the present, I may be inspired to learn some code of my own for some smaller projects.

    Cheers,

    Jon

    Hey everyone,

I'm working on an anonymous idea sharing app called Ideaski. The main purpose is to help entrepreneurs and app developers come up with new project ideas, identify emerging markets, and refine their ideas before diving into the real work.

The app is still in its early stages but I'll soon be adding idea tags, breakdowns, and product requests. You can follow the journey on Twitter @BigIdeaski!

    Hi all,
I'm new here. I joined because I want to learn about User Testing for a product I'm working on. I feel like there are many different ways to do user testing and that's it's easy to get biased results. I'd like to do it the right way.
Other than that, I can help in fintech & crypto products. I'm a builder. I went through YCombinator as a founder, and I led 2 startups. Currently experiencing product challenges in my 2nd one. I think we're crossing the chasm too early..

    1. 2

Hey GiantBear! Welcome to Indie Hackers :)

Sounds like you have a really interesting history having gone through Ycom.

I'm currently looking into user testing and the best processes to carry out customer-centric ideation. Myself and my team run an accelerator specifically for deep tech companies (quantum, life sciences) and have developed a platform to expedite business planning and idea validation. We're now looking to release that platform to the public (for free at first).

Would you be at all interested in connecting to discuss user testing and any pain-points you're currently facing in the coming weeks? Please do let me know!

Hello guys, I am a software developer. I have always built products for my clients. I started working on small side projects. I want to connect with other people also interested in building products.
This is the latest application I built https://apps.shopify.com/cartoshare-share-my-cart. It was a small project to get to know the API and the capabilities. Now I am onto the next one. Still looking into what to build, ideas are welcome ;)
