What are you doing as a founder?

Hello fellow founders! I hope you are safe and adapting to this new locked-down lifestyle. I am wondering what are founders doing right now? How are you growing your business? Do you feel affected by the change in the market?

Would love to hear about your journey and how you are doing. I certainly feel the fear in almost everyone around me. But I feel hopeful and confident. I would like to use this time to release more content and connect to more people. I have not yet figured out the best ways to connect, but if you are on the same boat, I would love to jump on a call and brainstorm.

What do you think?

Hey Shar! Currently still trying to establish my business (it's in its infancy stage). It's a weird state to be in, because I have time to be productive and everyone's on the internet, but it's slow growth because businesses are trying to cut down on costs. Which is understandable.

I'm feeling optimistic, though. Would love to connect with you!

If your business is VA services, a recession is a good time to be operating! More businesses will shed in-person assistants in favor of VAs - who, mind you, have more experience operating online than your average secretary. It may be worth mentioning that to your customers

Thanks, ovi! I think so as well, but any suggestions on where to look? So far my cold outreach has gathered some interest, but conversion is difficult. So far I've been targeting growing startups/SaaS companies.

Get yourself a Team account on a platform like Upwork, where businesses would be turning to for quick turn-around projects. That would turn them into warm leads, much easier to convert.
Perhaps there are newsletters out there focused on automating/outsourcing, whom you can pay for ad placement, or communities where similar topics are discussed.

On one hand, it's been great to be able to develop CoderNotes daily, and not feel bad that I'm missing out on time with friends.

On the other hand, it's been hard to treat this as "business as usual" to my beta members. Sending emails feels awkward without at least mentioning covid-19.

It was great and productive for first few days because every change is good, but this productiveness is easily falling down :) Although you can make everything from your home, the office is a better place for doing business for sure. We are able to run everything remotely, but doing in a team is priceless :)

With the shelter-in-place order, I've been at home for 11 days now. My productivity's through the roof!

I'm just sticking to the business plan for now but executing it quicker.

So far, it's been a productive mix of fear and confidence.
