What are you going to build this week? 🥁

Well, it's Monday on the Japanese/Australian coast! ☀️

Share your weekly goal here in the comments below and then try to complete it by Friday! Also, speak up if you need help or advice on your project or if the pandemic is wearing you down.

We are in this together! ❤️

My goal for the week: I’ll finish implementing the frontend of User data-model on the Red Goose this week and also talk to three potential clients about their mobile app needs and test their ability to pay. 😎

Keep truckin’ it folks! 🤟🏻

Since we finally moved to a new apartment, it's time to get back to my special "in progress" task - rewriting everything on to Go 💻🚀🤖

    PHP ElephantIt's Go time!

Also, I should work on onboarding process for Hosted Status Page, since there is none at the moment 😂

    Onboarding

    1. 2

      As always, @vponamariov. 🏄🏻‍♂️

I'm working on the early stages of a project in my spare time, but I've been itching to launch something publicly while I am validating the idea.

So I set a goal of launching the first edition of my newsletter in a week. I tweeted about it last weekend to make it official, spent this week setting up Substack, wrote the newsletter, and scheduled it for publication this morning.

It was a great feeling to ship something. I've started working on issues 2 and 3, so I'm excited to ship consistently.

      1. 1

Hey, thank you @marvindanig. I really appreciate your support!

  3. 2

I'll have to do some clean-up on http://mkws.sh/ also move the Netlify repositories to https://github.com/mkws-1 from my personal account https://github.com/adriangrigore. Also, continue promoting the project.

  4. 2

We just launched our landing page so we will be trying to use that to get a bit of validation. On top of that, the YC Build Sprint has started so I'll be starting the work on the MVP!

  5. 2

I'm creating an inspirational travel channel on YouTube that will have walk-along videos in different neighborhoods around the world. In the main series, no additional talking or background music.

I'm currently brainstorming a name for the channel (suggestions WELCOME!) and hope to have something to show for it within the next week.

  6. 2

I want to start creating content and engage more with the community. Therefore, I want to relaunch my blog and get to 25 Twitter followers (To my excuse: I started Twitter last week and I'm absolutely bad at social media :D)

  7. 2

Only focussing on selling from today!

My plan is to create as much content possible to promote my invoicing & contracts tool: fruitbowl.io

Youtube and blog posts are my main mediums right now!

    1. 2

      Fruitbowl looks great!🏆

All the best on your sales sprint!

      1. 1

Thank you man, I appreciate that

  8. 2

I'm preparing the PH launch for our encrypted professional instant messaging Misakey

    1. 2

I launched my book today and have just hit 100 upvotes (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/buddha-to-bezos).

If you need any help from my experience, given it is fresh, will be more than happy to contribute. All the best @Fabien

      1. 1

Hi Kushon, good job for your launch!
        Your book seems really interesting.
Did you already have a community waiting for your book or build one just before the launch?

        1. 1

Nopes, I did not have a community at all (not recommended). Pretty much everything that happened on Producthunt was organic.

          1. 1

Yes, I heard this is not recommended, that's why I'm trying to find people interested in testing / betatesting the app before the launch in September.
Congratulations to you, you are close to 200!

  9. 2

I am going to add basic Country, City, and Attraction data to https://eurotripr.com

I had to put it on the back burner as so i as i put the site live due to day job responsibilities, but am going to spend this week adding content and improving site load times.

  10. 2

I will be working on the MVP for https://indiemy.com. Nearly done setting up Gitops up, yay!

  11. 2

I am building my healthcare app. And for that I am doing my user reaserch.

  12. 2

We are building the best website builder in the world, not an exaggeration but it definitely is. Going to finish our components library this week and our new landing page design with our blog.

    Check out our site. https://www.rushpie.com

    1. 1

      Lofty goal, dope website!

Are you using an IntersectionObserver() to trigger those subtle animations?

      1. 1

No, but we are using that for the new website. Currently using a library called AOS. Check it out 😊

  13. 2

My hands are completely full with side projects, but I'm going to try and squeeze in a tiny one. I recently noticed that there aren't many good places to rent GA aircraft from in the city of Dallas. This week I'm going to create a website, and social media for what will eventually become an aircraft rental business.

I currently don't have the capital or the time to start this type of business, but if I can get started on the brand now it will be much easier to launch in a few years.

  14. 2

I'm building a daily, personalized, stock market video newsletter - this is a "vacation" from my core product (https://verifiablee.com), but uses the customized video production tech I built for that product.

  15. 2

I'm going to continue on building content around the launch of Podcastmarks.

I finished a first ever demo video the weekend! Demo

  16. 2

Thinking about launching a podcast which I've thought of for the last week or so. Keep it rough in order to capture momentum. Not quite sure just yet though, have a bunch of other things going on.

  17. 2

We'll be going hell for leather to have the first working version of plum mail.
The demo video has gone down great just need to fix all the edgecases a real system throws up

    1. 1

Very cool. I think I saw you guys on HN the other day. Great going! 🤙🏻

  18. 2

I am going to improve the landing page https://gemsnotes.app/ according to the feedback received here on IH!

I will also write a couple of blog posts and share it on various social media :)

  19. 2

My goal is to finish our new onboarding for Avocation this week!

  20. 2

I'll be launching the MVP for the product I've been working on the last few weeks and conducting user interviews for my next project!

The idea is to better align for-purpose and for-profit motives. If you can connect me with anyone working on sustainable social impact, please, let me know!

  21. 2

I'm going to stop myself building anything this week! I have fallen into that trap before i.e. straight from idea to building the product without thinking about validation, marketing etc.

With my current project I am still in the validation phase so really trying to resist building anything this week whilst I gather more data from my MVP landing page.

....sooo tempting to get hacking tho :-)

  22. 2

I recently finished my first "serious" web project https://hideandseek.world, and this week I'm going to start working on the marketing side of things: writing blog posts, articles etc.

Also I made a simple iOS game a few months ago: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/draw-it-fill-in-the-shapes/id1508860259. I'm going to submit it to a game publisher so they can run some tests on it.

  23. 2

My goal for the week is to sign up the first 100 users in my startup. I'd love to hear your opinion about Remotely.rocks and if you sign up. ✌️

    1. 1

      Anton,

Remotely looks very nice and useful. All the best with your weekly goal!

      \- m

    2. 1

I love the simple design! As a function of remote job boards, are you an aggregator or do you have your unique posting? What's the edge?

      1. 1

Thank you for your feedback). Companies posts their own vacancies (But now I do it myself to fill the site). One of the advantages is a convenient dashboard for companies, the price is lower than others and the ability for remote workers to create their own profile and communicate.

  24. 2

My goal is to make 3 posts each day in each of the online communities where I think potential customers for Self Manager might be.

  25. 2

My goal is to start attracting clients to my company, Trumbull. There may be some need to make the website more clear, but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.
We help startups build their brand identity. Check us out! www.trumbullads.com

  26. 2

I'm working on streamlining ways for anyone to contribute 1) adding more movies and 2) increase syncing accuracy for existing movies in screenplaysubs.com, since it seems there are way more people than expected who are willing to give a hand.

    1. 2

Oh, this is so cool @egan! 🥳

All the best for your goals of this week! ❤️

  27. 2

I'm working super hard to brainstorm and put up the version 2.0 of Virtual Mojito, would be awesome to hear your opinions :)

    GMT+8 here @marvindanig

    1. 1

@felix12777, Virtual Mojito looks nice! 🤙🏻

I note that you've tagged the tools by their category but would it be nice to club the tools of same category together? So if a user is interested in video conferencing, they can see Jitsi, Hangout and Zoom together in one cluster. That's one.

Second, the banner animation is too fast. Slow it down. I think it distracts the reader from focusing on your content, so may be remove it completely?

      I hope my feedback helps.

All the best on your project! ❤️

      1. 2

@marvindanig that's awesome! Thanks for the genuine feedback. I've added your ideas to my pipeline. In fact, I'm planning the Ver 2.0.

Can I tag your twitter as an appreciation when it's ready to launch? Let me know :) Here's my link!

        1. 1

          Sure, anytime! ❤️

  28. 2

I'm working on updating documentation for my visual coding tool, Discord Bot Studio. I'm updating the docs over at https://docs.discordbotstudio.org , which are being hosted on Gitbook, which I like a lot so far.

    1. 1

      Very cool. 🔥

Is the Gitbook source being maintained? I remember them moving away from open source and setting up a SAAS business model for themselves.

I could be wrong about this though.

  29. 1

    Continue Building Inbound

I am in the wait queue for Betalist and Betapage, which now gives me a time frame to add more features into the MVP, while I work with one-off beta list members from other sources.

    What are those things?

Mostly around continuing to build out the Rules engine. A little bit more tidying up in the engine itself, then off to build an interactive SVG-Canvas based workflow page (think Drip/ConvertKit workflow pages).

  30. 1

this week i'll be working on user account configurations, yes, there are a bunch of parameters. Wish me luck :D

    1. 1

haha! configurations always come with luck. all the best!

  31. 1

I have to think on perfect user growth strategy for privateequitylist.com
The product side of site is ready, now it is time to show the world that we exist!

  32. 1
    • Build a landing page
    • Brainstorm name for my app
  33. 1

I have to finish the landing page of my mvp, Hodho, a video marketing platform (alternative to wistia) so I can hope to launch it in the beginning of September.

  34. 1

I want to try and add redeemable rewards or daily status updates to Let Them Eat Cake. Both are coming soon. Talked to someone this week who said they neglected to use a different product because they forgot about it due to no updates, so that's inching more towards the top of my list.

  35. 1

I'm going to work real hard on building Makerlog.
Took a bit of a break last week, but I'm back in the grind.

  36. 1

My focus this week is getting the blog live for ChromeExtensionKit and making some additions to the kit itself. Hoping to also focus on driving consistent post-launch traffic.

  37. 1

This week we're going to work on ironing out some of the wrinkles in our landing page - Relaax. I'm also going to be taking user feedback and trying to come up with the features that we need to build in the next four weeks. If anyone has any feedback for our landing page, feel free to give us a shout!

  38. 1

This week is my last week of my #30daydesignchallenge and I will complete some complex designs for mobile. Here's what I have built so far >>> dribbble.com/uzeziogho

  39. 1

I'm looking for users to test my route optimization application by reaching out directly to people and organizations who could potentially use this product.

  40. 1

    Hi Marvin, and everyone else!

I need a break from the research I'm doing for a podcast, so I plan on beginning the ground work on a rebuild of an important part of the Under Cloud that's gotten a bit bloated.

It's the first part I built, and while I had a plan, I was making some things up as I went along, and that's beginning to show in the code. So while it's stable, it's going to cause problems updating and adding to it in the future.

    1. 1

      Hey!

It’s always a good idea to leave behind notes on the code or do tiny refactoring as we grow and build rapidly.

      1. 2

I have // TODO: … comments for TODO comments!

  41. 1

I'm going to write some more articles on my blog at https://dwayne.xyz , actually add some of the tools/services I had planned to the website, and do some customer research for an iOS app idea I've been thinking about.

    1. 1

From a fellow Dwayne, good luck.

  42. 1

Hey guys! I'm working on a fashion-tech brand that is going to introduce top notch tshirts with psychadelic illustrations and AR/VR features intergrated into it. What do you think?

    1. 1

      Love this! Using QR codes?

    2. 1

Sounds trance 🤩… go build it!

  43. 1

My main plan is to build something using Github actions this week!
I've seen so much in this space and want to give it a shot myself.
Not sure what, but we'll get there...
