What are you working on this weekend?

Are you working this weekend? If so, I'm curious to hear what project's you're all working on and what aspects? ...design, development, marketing, sales?

Personally speaking, I'm working on adding a 7 day free trial to www.ideasdrop.com landing page, admin work and marketing

I'm tracking my progress since launching 9 days ago over on Twitter https://twitter.com/fiveideasaday/status/1211242989596684289

  1. 4

careermove.io - Improving on the ability to like posts and follow users

    1. 1

This is an interesting topic. I run morningprompt.com let me know if you think there would be a fit for a partnership to integrate some of the prompts.

  2. 4

I am working on my book https://deploymentformakers.com. Yesterday I practically finished the chapter about firewalls and today I wrote about NGINX logging and log rotations in general.

Really happy to be making progress again after long time of being idle on this project.

    1. 1

Great concept. Did you validate it beforehand? How?

      1. 1

Yes, I simply asked on Ruby subreddit if there is a demand for a book like this. I got many upvotes and replies and that was my initial validation :).

  3. 2

Like your tweet progress! Keep up the good work!

I'm finalizing our next product. A privacy focused, trend analytics for your websites, without tracking users: coolAnalytics

  4. 2

Since the holidays have just got over, I'm pretty excited to get started on marketing for Draftss.com

Simultaneously, working on testing the dashboard for Prospects.com

  5. 2

https://remoteleaf.com - Curating the remote jobs posted on the twitter feed :)

    1. 1

Interesting, so jobs are delivered only to inbox or can we view/browse them somewhere? Also, are you planning on adding any trial period or have you already validated about not having the same?

      1. 1

Jobs are only delivered to the inbox. Yes, I'm planning to add a 7 day trial period, a few people suggested that I should have a trail period, so that people can try and subscribe. Are you interested to try?

        1. 1

Yes, I would subscribe and provide my email only if I can see or try the product.

          1. 1

Hey Milan, Remote Leaf Trial is working now :) Feel free to try it out!

            1. 1

Thanks for informing, Abinaya. I will surely try it out.

          2. 1

Hey Milan, I just deployed the code changes and the trial period is ready now. Check out https://remoteleaf.com

            1. 1

Sorry, never mind, looks like there is a problem with Stripe side, problem with adding a trial period. I'll confirm you once again as soon as it's up.

          3. 1

kk sure, I'll ping you here once it's ready.

  6. 2

I'm gonna be adding a Subscribers section to Typehut where site owners can see who subscribed to their sites.

This is probably the first feature to have a paywall in Typehut, as users will only be able to see up to 50 (still deciding) subscribers unless they upgrade to the Pro plan.

    1. 2

Great landing page. The design is simple and beautiful.

  7. 2

Since I got a lot of interest from businesses In having a page on nocodery, that's what I'll be working on this weekend.
Also promoting nocodery upcoming page https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/nocodery

Sure thing. Shoot me an email [email protected]

  8. 2

This weekend I'm working on taking it easy so I can crush next week's tasks.

Taking weekends off to think and relax has proven very important for my overall work performance.

  9. 2

My goal this weekend is to find a solution for all the textual content of Monitoro.xyz, that should allow me to consolidate all the content in one place (no more docs. and blog. subdomains)
It should be able to manage all of:

    • Landing page (and terms, privacy etc)
    • Docs
    • Blog

And be editable without having to deploy new code.

I'm currently using a different solution for each, a regular static website, Gitbook for the docs and Tumblr for the blog. I just went crazy trying to reverse proxy them.
Long story short, It's a very bad idea.

I'm currently exploring going with Ghost, since JS + Handlebars for the template sounds right up my alley.

It's just unfortunate that I need to crank up some engineering to get this done, I was hoping to avoid that.

    1. 2

Cool landing page! I like that it's different than all the full-width sites that only have the big hero text above the fold.

      1. 2

Thanks! I'm trying not to follow fads just because :D

Love the tweet thread to track progress/accountability, I do it too 😀

      1. 2

Thanks my guy. I know you do I'm a big fan of yours 😀

Would love to work on something together in the future.

    2. 2

It's great to see you progressing on Ideasdrop!

A little nitpick: "Choose a plan" is disabled for a long time until the page loads fully, any specific reason to disable it?

Also personally I wouldn't have shown it at the very beginning, before "showing some value" to the users.

      Best of luck David!

      1. 1

I agree but the platform I built the community don't allow you to move the CTA :/

I contacted them to see if it could be done.

Finish touching up on my A/B testing feature and working on landing page

  15. 1

Trying to figure out if building a sales focused version of Talkative is a good idea. We just released a landing page at sales.meettalkative.com, and are trying to schedule customer interviews for early this week.

  16. 1

upninja.io - Simple and affordable uptime monitoring and status page service

I am working on making my side project better, make some bugfixes

  17. 1

Outreach. I listened to below the line podcast on https://www.lennyrachitsky.com/p/how-to-kickstart-and-scale-a-marketplace-9ee - It helped me get some clarity on my marketplace problem. I built a roadmap from it and I am now doing outreach. - Request a favor from the group.

  18. 1

Finishing up auth (forgot password), adding google analytics, creating a cron in heroku, adding react-table for sorting, and finishing up landing page (only have hero section so far).

  21. 1

So this week I am redesigning www.horizontec.in and planning to launch on Monday

  22. 1

Pageam.com — Landing page builder for mobile apps

  23. 1

Working on adding more products to Free To Launch.

I started the project on New Years Eve, and have a Tweet Thread where I'm sharing my progress.

This is mainly a content project, which is a departure for me. I normally focus on building custom web applications.

  24. 1

Just taking some time to improve my skills in Flutter by doing the Flutter Clock Competition.

  25. 1

I don't have a family with kids yet and currently being jobless no day is a free day 😄

I want to do so many things for my userTrack analytics project 📈 that I actually find it hard to get started on something without switching to something else.

I would consider this weekend a successful one if I manage to finish rewriting the front-end of the app from 🍝 jQuery spaghetti code into clean ✨TypeScript + React.

I also want to think more about the 💰monetization plan for the product and whether the pay-once model will be sustainable 👀.

  26. 1

Put the MVP for my app, Bullet, on IH :) It lets you essentially use your phone as a keyboard for your desktop PC.

Keen to hear any feedback on it!

I am planning to create a video tutorial for showing users how to effectively use botmake.io
Already installed video editor and thinking about scenario of video

    1. 4

If this helps, an approach I used to make such a video is:

1- Write the steps of the tutorial first as bullet points
2- Record yourself doing it a few times. Be as slow as possible.
3- Play a few videos, pick the one you like most, and record yourself talking over it, basing yourself on your bullet points in #1. Write down the text and iterate a few times.
4- Adjust the speed of parts of the video to your voice speed and vice versa. If necessary, re-record certain parts of the voice to fix things up.

This gave me maximum flexibility, if you're curious about the outcome, you can find it here:
      https://docs.monitoro.xyz/quick-start

Thank you very much for all these tips, very helpful.

Marketing is my strength, so I've built up a decent following across multiple social networks - 2.6 million. I'm using the Levels approach on Twitter where I'm building in the open and sharing my journey to growing a 500 strong community by the end of the year. I'm using my https://twitter.com/fiveideasaday to push traffic and is working very well so far. I also det up a https://twitter.com/ideasdrop account where I will share the best ideas from the community to try to entice people to sign up.
