What are your goals for this month?

It’s a new year, and a new month. We all have todos we want to cross off. Let’s share what we want to accomplish and cheer each other on!

Taking a page out of @rosiesherry’s book, here's how you can join the discussion:

  • First, respond to someone else who's commented, just to say hello or leave them some support!
  • Next, leave your own comment describing what your biggest goal is for January.

Let’s crush January 2021!

  1. 6

My goal this month is to launch Life Time Deal for Promote

    1. 2

Good luck! I’m sure it will sell out fast.

  2. 5

My #1 goal is to launch my first info product (spreadtheworld.net - a list of 400+ places where you can post your startup) to product hunt.

That will be my first PH launch, I'm stressed :)

    1. 1

Wow! I launched my first info product last year. Yours seems really useful for people! And I love that it’s “just a database” - I’ve only seen courses/ebooks. Good luck!

    2. 1

Good luck with your launch! It could be interesting for us as paperless.io

      1. 1

Paperless seems super useful, feel free to reach out if you need any advice!

    3. 1

      Subscribed, good luck with launch!

  3. 4

My goal is to successfully board more people from our waiting list on and prepare the launch from paperless.io!
If you have any feedback for the website or product please let me know 🤓

    1. 2

Hello! Nice to see another SaaS founder in here! What has worked well for promoting your waiting list?

      1. 1

Still working on our waiting list - waiting for our press release 🎉

    2. 2

You're landing page is crazy. Seriously it's one of the best I've ever seen. Nice!

      1. 1

Thanks! That is so great to hear.

    3. 2

      Wow, looks fantastic!

    4. 2

Such an amazing landing page, really top notch.

      1. 1

        Thanks for the awesome feedback

    5. 2

The landing page is beautiful! In my own words, it looks like a GUI for Google Docs, combined with HelloSign. Good luck!

  4. 4

My goal this month is to launch Gabzzle — a tool to generate cover photos for all social media.

    Pretty excited! 🤞

    1. 2

I’m surprised this doesn’t already exist - it’s such a pain to have to look up the social media photo sizes, then manually adjust in a tool like Figma. Good luck!

    2. 2

Gabzzle looks amazing! Never thought about before but with paperless.io we will need them.

      1. 1

Thank you! paperless.io looks amazing, and I'm excited to see how Gabzzle is gonna help you all 😬

  5. 4

My #1 goal for this month is to launch the new version of the Vim for VSCode course website (see preview)

    1. 1

      The course looks great!

    2. 1

      The website looks great!

      1. 2

Thank you! It’s been a long work in progress!

    3. 1

I'm a vim lover for 10yrs now, can't wait to see your course!

      1. 2

Oh man - you must be a pro then! I’ve been using it for a couple years so still new. Thanks! I’ll let you know when it’s out!

  6. 3

My goal is to make a list of different problems i and other developers are having. I am trying to create a SaaS this year and scale it to $500 MRR

    1. 1

I think 2021 is going to be your year that you make it happen! Keep us posted on your progress!

      1. 1

        Thanks Joe! Will do.

    2. 1

Sounds great! That is what we did with paperless.io
Had this problem almost every day and then decided to solve it!

      1. 2

So cool! Paperless’s landing page and opening demo is on-point. Could you describe to me a bit of the process it took for you to find that main pain point?

        1. 1

In our sales process we noticed that the last step was still often a barrier. Meaning we have sold the product on the phone and now only the contract should be signed.
Many customers lost sight of this or it took too long. As a result, they still jumped off. This is exactly what we have solved with paperless.io. Contracts are signed directly & uncomplicated in 5 minutes.

          1. 1

            Super cool. Thanks for sharing!

            How are sales going?

      2. 1

Also, what tech stack do you use for your landing page and the product?

  7. 2

My goal is to reach 100 subscribers on our newsletter. We're doing monthly deep-dive case studies with content creators. I've modeled the newsletter after the original SaaS Hacker case studies with story telling around insights from creators. (I wish they still published that newsletter). https://cardsetter.com/cursor

  8. 2

I'm going through my third draft for my book Building Your Mouseless Development Environment. I hope it will be done this month!

Then I'll try to get some people to review it. I'm not sure how I'll do that, maybe trying to hire a reviewer.

    1. 1

Oh yes - I remember chatting with you about that. I’m sure it will! Depending on how long it is, maybe you could ask some trusted friends to each review a few chapters? That’s what a friend of mine did. Hiring a reviewer might be a good move too.

      1. 2

That's a nice idea to ask friends for reviewing just a part of it. Thanks for that! I'm sure everybody will use Vim (or VSCode with Vim keystrokes) in a near future, thanks to us :D

        1. 2

Yes! Or you could post somewhere on IH and offer an exchange - review one chapter of your book in exchange for reviewing someone else’s blog post or work or something!

          Yes! Love it :D

  9. 2

My goal for this month is to package up some of my more popular Developer Microskills newsletter issues into a PDF guide as a lead magnet/sign-up freebie.

    1. 1

Genius! Good luck with that, Sam :D

  10. 2

My goal is to get 1 paid customer (that's not in a trial) for Jamform. Currently have 130 free users and 1 Pro User that's in a 3 month free trial. Whether it be new users into the funnel or upselling a free user I just want to get at least one incoming revenue.

  11. 2

My #1 goal is to get a MVP for a screenwriting webapp built.

    1. 1

That sounds like it’s feasible depending on how much time you put in. Good luck!

  12. 2

My goal for this month is to find beta testers for my community music platform project Hupsound

    1. 2

Cool project - I’m sure you’ll find some. There’s always people posting about finding new music on Twitter!

    2. 1

@stephpsqn are you still working on Hupsound? I tried signing up as I'm big Jazz music fan. I'm the product owner for a community platform for school teachers built in NextJS/NodeJS which you can see at Coteacher.com or in this demo video: https://youtu.be/P8Lnxemfy84

I would like to reuse this community platform and pivot into a new space outside of education. This is why I asked about Hupsound. Could our platform help you advance Hupsound? Would you be interested in helping me relauch my community platform in a different vertical (financial services)?

      1. 1

Sadly I'm not working anymore on Hupsound!
Your platform Coteacher looks very promising! I'd love to hear more about the financial services you're hoping to provide through your community platform?"

My goal for this month is to finish and launch 3D device mockup builder (things.morflax.com) on ProductHunt.

    1. 2

Wow! The 3D images look beautiful. Good luck!

      1. 1

Thank you, I will add more of them soon!

  14. 2

Happy New Year Indie Hackers! <3

My goal of January is to execute the customer reviews campaign so we can move towards the Product Hunt launch in February.

    1. 2

Happy New Year and good luck!
