What do you think about starter templates?

Last month, I started using React / Node starters and some Gatsby ready made pages that I bought from Envato 💰. Now, I'm considering using more domain specific templates to save more time on development.

I'm thinking that some niches should be better off using templates and others not. For example Udemy-like websites seems very similar in functionality and site overall architecture. Same for Tinder-like dating apps and Uber-like ride sharing apps.

But I'm not sure if that applies to everything and I'm sti;; trying to figure out if I will be saving time or end up spending even more time polishing the UI and fixing up compatibility issues with the rest of the tech stack.

What do you think about starter templates? Have you ever used them to save time and frustration? Did it worked?
