What does "indie" mean to you?

I'm really curious what this idea/word means to this community.

Coming from the self-publishing (i.e., indie author) world, indie conjures up meanings such as :

  • small but agile
  • authentic
  • community-centered
  • struggle
  • freedom (in thought, action, creativity).

What else?

  1. 1

I like to think it as independent so freedom is the closest.
