What is a brand?

A brand is an easy way to identify yourself to other people.

Great brands help people understand what you stand for, who and what is your motivation for existing and as an extension shows them why they should be buying products from YOU.

A strong brand is an invaluable part of any business strategy but is very difficult to build. Some brands as so well established, that no matter where you mention them or to who, they'll know exactly what you're talking about and usually they'll immediately be able to associate the brands with what it stands for.

Let's go over a few quick examples:

Apple
Nike
Coke

When you read each of those words you probably immediately thought of the company/brand and what they do or what they stand for.

Apple is known for premium, high quality products, which can also be pretty expensive, but work really well together.

Nike is known for sports. You might know them from their sports gear, or partnerships in the sneaker market, but at the end of the day, they want you to just do it. Go out and train, be your best self and achieve everything you can!

Coke is delicious. Much better than Pepsi or any other drink you can think of, because they've done so much work putting the time into making you think that they're so good (not saying that a nice cold coke isn't delicious but still).

Every brand has put a lot of work into building out their image and I want to start a group on IH to teach everyone how to do it - help people out by answering any question they might have and posting weekly (if not more frequent) articles on building a brand.

If you're interested in joining a group like that, LEAVE A COMMENT below with a suggestion for the name (Branding, Brand Building, Brands, Brand Marketing, Building Brands, Building a Brand) and I'll add you to the group. Let your friends know too if you think they might be interested. Per IH's guidelines we need at least 9 more people (I'm person number 1) to start a group so hoping there's a bunch of interest!
