I was trying to find out what a good conversion rate is so that I could benchmark it against our landing pages.
I had a look online but I wanted to find out how other indie hackers are doing in terms of conversion rates. 🤔
Anyway, what do you think is a good conversion rate?
Yeah, you'll have to be a lot more clear about the exact use-case before anyone can provide any legitimate insight into expected conversion rate.
Conversion rate depends on so many things. The above is just a small sampling of what can help drive or determine conversion rate.
Convert from what to what?
Is that an "in construction, register for details"? Put your email to get this amazing report? Create a user now to try it? Do you have a video on top? Long format LP? What are the incoming visitor sources? Are they hot as in looked for "buy my thing"?...
This depends largely on your industry, the maturity of your business, and the source of your leads. So there isn't a single, universal, cross-industry conversion rate that you should be comparing your business to.
Wrote an entire post on this: https://allthingscurated.substack.com/p/the-success-metric-part-1-subscribers
Really great PDF/Case Study: https://www.getresponse.com/resources/guides/landing-page-optimization
I think the first question is what's the context of the landing page? What are you trying to do/sell? How are your call-to-actions placed?
Much like @iammike mentioned - there are so many things that play into conversion.
