What is the best way to create/get a product explainer video (animation) for a Product Hunt launch?

I am preparing for a PH launch. It is told to have a nice explainer video for the gallery part. But what is the best and easiest way to get one done?

I've used AnimationOutsourced in the past, and was really impressed with the quality given the cost. They are based in the Philippines. The video they produced can be seen at mytrustedaid.com. They had a "pay whatever you'd like" model. I can't remember the exact cost, but it was a few hundred bucks at most.

Fun fact about the Philippines: The country has a huge design/animation culture. In fact much of Finding Nemo was animated with Filipino animators.

In general, this is what I created GIFExplainer for. To create project explainers in minutes.

why don't you give a link to it, so I can check it out?

Because it's my project and I don't want to spam in another member's thread :) Here it is: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/gif-explainer

Unfortunately best does not equal easiest. I suggest watching other PH videos that attracted you to engage with them. Was it a polished presentation? How did it flow? Lots of graphics or was it the way it was explained? Sketch out a generic storyboard & relay that over to a few Fiverr artists to see what they come up with. If it's not good enough, get creative or hire a professional.

I agree with all of this and Brian does a good job laying out the steps involved. The thing I'd add is that animating these things yourself using after effects is definitely possible but I'd caution against it because there is a lot of finesse and experience required to go from having an animation that looks okay versus phenomenal and the learning curve to getting there on your own can be steep. That's also why there's a huge range in what you'd pay for a short video because it can take tons of time to obsessively watch a few second video clip and tweaking transitions sometimes frame by frame so that everything really pops. Just something to be aware of- of course if you have the time or interest you should definitely give it a shot!

At @unremute stage he may not need professional animation but sketching out a generic storyboard will let the Fiverr artists understand clearly what @unremute is trying to do. If they can pull off his ideas, he can get the explainer for very little cost. If not it will guide him better to an attainable solution. Hope that clarified animation vs. sketching a storboard.

yes, indeed, that's what I was hoping for. but not many people mentioned fiverr in the responses to this topic, that's interesting. I guess people prefer to go up to the price range above 250USD.

I just got an email offer from https://www.toontons.com/our-works/.

    Might be worth checking out.

I got one once from fiverr.com for $10

do you have a link to your video?
is there anyone on fiverr you could suggest?

I wasn't happy with the end result, so I created another one myself. That was my only experience with Fiverr so I can't recommend anyone.

I rarely ever use what's created on Fiverr. I tend to find it helps flesh out your ideas and then hire (if needed) a professional. Clearly laying out what you want to the professional(s) will most likely save you the additional iteration costs and make the process smoother.

does someone hunting you still benefit? but this sounds like a separate topic, I will now create another post questioning that.

Wow. The guy is a legend. I had no idea. I take it the way to game product Hunt is when a hunter with a large following posts, which creates a large blast radius since his/her followers are notified ?
