What is the conversion rate of your landing page?

If you have a landing page, do you measure a conversion rate? How is it?

About 1.1% for pirsch.io. A conversion is a signup. Most users convert to customers, but we don't track that automatically (yet).

Hey, Marvin. Thank you for sharing it. Much appreciated.

Pirsch Analytics looks very well. I guess it's an analog to Plausible Analytics.

1.1% to signups – is it a high conversion rate or low? Do you know benchmarks? What is the high conversion rate?

      1. 3

This depends on what you're selling :) I haven't compared us to our competition yet, but 1.1% seems reasonable, considering that there is no free tier (so users know they will have to pay at some point).

From what I've seen so far, 1-2% seems fairly normal for a young SaaS. If you are established 5-7% are more likely, as you're found by more people who actually want to sign up. Pirsch is not very well known yet, so we can do a lot better I think.

Got it. Thank you for sharing it. It's really interesting.

Oh, something I forgot to mention is that we see more signups on days with lower traffic. Organic traffic (people searching for a solution you offer) or traffic from ads (people clicking on an ad) is much more valuable than artificially generated one (like creating a posting on IH). This might not be true for every product, but the barrier for conversion is lower.

              Yeah, totally agreed, Marvin.

Hey @shashcoffe - thought you might enjoy this tweet:

Also, as a baseline benchmark for SaaS, 1.5% is good, 3% is great, 5% is amazing.

Again it all really depends on how you define a "conversion" and depends on what your selling/what vertical your business is in.

I started Pirsch as a side project for my personal website and we thought it would make a good product. I didn't look at existing solutions at that point, except for GoatCounter, which I found because I was looking for a server-side solution. That's also the main difference between Plausible and Pirsch. We allow using Pirsch from your backend, while also offering a JavaScript integration. The main reason for that is that you can miss out on a lot of data depending on the audience. Tech-savvy people will block trackers for example, even if they are GDPR compliant.

Our conversion rate is 40%, but thats misleading, because our software is freemium, basically all the people signing up for my software are already followers of mine on youtube, and these folks would only have found out about my software after watching a few minutes of my videos where I explain it indepth. We havent tested cold traffic yet, but I'd imagine it would be pitifully low, and non-revenue generating (we're freemium pricing, and our users are currently worth an avg of $2 MRR each).

In looking at CR (conv. rate), the traffic source matters a LOT. How targeted are the users? How pre-vetted are they? Did they go through any sorts of pre-sell pages? (ie. a trending producthunt post? a cold fb video ad? some other news article? SEO for a high-intent term? etc)

Yeah, John, definitely. The traffic source matters a lot. 💯

Around 15%? But it's free for building out a regular bio. When we tried running ads it crossed above 35%, but think there was some level of bots in there.

    1. 1

      Hmm, that's interesting.🤔

  4. 2

It's around 20% for visits to sign-ups for new users on The User Interview Exchange - but it's free to sign up and use and doesn't get massive traffic from organic. For PPC, it's ~7%.

Hey, Mick. These good numbers, you know! Is it cold traffic?
