What revenue multiple do newsletters have?

Does anyone who's sold a newsletter before have any idea as to what sort of revenue multiple newsletters typically sell for?

If not, does anyone have any resources you could use to come up with a multiple? I'm wondering if there are marketplaces to list your newsletter for sale that I could use to see what newsletters at various sizes are selling for.

    Hey there is https://duuce.com/

You'll get a higher multiple for subscriptions than advertising. I can say that I got a blended 1.5x - 2x annual revenue multiple for mine (https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-i-built-a-5k-mrr-newsletter-within-10-months-and-why-i-sold-it-71504ee036)

really? I'm surprised the multiple was that low. Don't typical SaaS businesses go for closer to 4x?

Your post is super insightful! Thanks for the share!

Duuce is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks @richardpatey!

A big difference is that a newsletter requires ongoing work. A typical SaaS may or may not need any more work.

Yeah that makes sense. So, if the newsletter was more like a weekly listicle and less a personal newsletter it might go for a higher multiple?

I guess maybe you could use these subscription businesses on EmpireFlippers as a good proxy?
