What SaaS products do you (gladly) pay for?

I know what we're all super cheap and on a budget. But i've been wondering -- as an indiehacker, what SaaS products do you pay for and use with your business?

In my case, I've been a fan of gmass.co and findthatlead.com which I use on a regular basis. They aren't very expensive but have definitely been useful. What other ones do you all use?

CookieHub and G Suite. Also have some on/off relationship with Mailjet and Mailgun, but mostly settle with Amazon SES.

Wow a happy SES user. Whats your secret. Isnt it a nightmare to get out of sandbox ?

      1. 3

Super easy to get out of sandbox if you have a verified domain and you have a proper, well explained use-case. Let me know if you have any difficulties in doing so.

        1. 1

Exactly. SES need to maintain credibility and don't want to be seen as a service for spam. So thinking about, and then explaining how you're going to deal with bounces, requests to unsubscribe and such is helpful.

It also helps to have an active account for a while before requesting to leave the sandbox. Just to look more genuine.

First time I heard people having issues getting out of the sandbox. There is a button to request access. Takes literally 20 seconds to fill the form with your data and wait a couple of hours.

Awesome, I forgot to mention G suite! 🤙

      1. 1

I struggle to see the real value of G Suite, what is the main feature/use case that makes it worth it to you?

        1. 1

Having my every move tracked 😏

Good question ... Here's my list:

    • Riverside.fm (for my podcasts)
    • Descript (to create the podcast transcript / awesome tool, by the way)
    • Webflow
    • Timely
    • Notion
    • (in the near future) Memberstack or Outseta (didn't decide yet)
    • (soon) ConvertKit

How amazing look's riverside.fm - does it really work that well?

      1. 2

I didn't try other / similar tools to riverside.fm so I can't compare but I love the quality of the sound. It really makes the difference (compared to simply record the audio via Google Hangouts or Zoom).

        1. 1

Thanks I will test it - what is your podcast or you recorded with it?

          1. 2

I'll be launching my podcast soon and I've already interviewed 4 people. That's why I can say that riverside didn't disappoint. (-:

    Firebase
    AWS
    Zoho

    1. 1

Yes on Firebase - build our entire API platform on it.

    2. 1

I love Firebase as well, using it for my Itsy Project

  4. 1

I'll pay gladly for Firebase when my needs hit the threshold!

  5. 1

    Digital Ocean, NPM, BitDev

  6. 1

    Hosting, mostly Digital Ocean now.
Invoicing, Fakturoid now (Czech only, they can prepare simple tax returns for me).
    Analytics, Plausible now.
    Fun, basically just Netflix now.

  7. 1

    As a team we use:
    SLACK
    Notion

Plus for our sales we use paperless.io - got into the beta for free

  8. 1

G Suite for me. Invaluable for $7.

  9. 1

There are some obvious choices in the comments, but one I like very much is CloudWays. They are a very worthwhile Cloud Hosting Platform, configurable and stable. Really getting my moneys worth there ...

  10. 1

Gsuite, Zoho One, Stripe, OVH (web hosting)

To reduce the monthly charges, I use Appsumo :)

  11. 1

    Gsuite
    Zoom
    Gist for customer support
BirdSend for email marketing (this is a paid tool, but because I created it so no need to pay :)
    Digital Ocean
    AWS

I pay for Asana, Slack, Gmail, PayPal, Rankinity. The first 3 software are common. For the Rankinity software, I use it to track our keyword rankings. I like the way it charges its service. The software charges only when we get the keyword ranking data.

  13. 1

gmail, zoho-email (for side project), dropbox, mailgun, aws & digital ocean, spotify

  14. 1

Github - the very cornerstone of most I do. Apart from that, G-Suite, Zoom, Harvest (invoice automation), Stripe (Is Stripe SaaS? Sort of, I guess) and Grammarly.

  15. 1

Heroku, Digital Ocean, Plausible, Xero, Mailerlite.

    1. 1

Digital Ocean 🌊. ;) I happily pay for Vultr.

      1. 1

You're paying for Digital Ocean and Vultr?

        1. 1

          No ;)

          Only for Vultr.

          1. 1

Ohh I see, yeah, same here, Vultr is my go to.

  16. 1

Adobe XD, Godaddy, and soon DigitalOcean.

If I find more stuff that I need as time goes on I will gladly pay.
