What to do with a great domain name related to sports?
This may be a long post but I do hope someone reads it all and comments on it.
The Basic story
I own a great domain name in Brazil, and I am not sure what to do with it. It would be equivalent to nfl.com in America. I have a master’s degree in Computer Science but I have not done much in tech terms in the last 20 years. Any opinions?
Details (a long description of the problem for those who have a few minutes)
Over 20 years ago I bought www.libertadores.com.br .
Copa Libertadores is Latin America’s most important soccer competition.
From Wikipedia: “The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América (Portuguese: Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. "
“In the present format, the tournament consists of eight stages, with the first stage taking place in late January. The four surviving teams from the first three stages join 28 teams in the group stage, which consists of eight groups of four teams each. The eight group winners and eight runners-up enter the knockout stages, which end with the final in November. I live in Brazil but have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer science from a Big 10 University. I finished my M.Sc. in the early ’90s.

One of my initial ideas is simply to build a soccer forum and try to monetize through advertisement to sports betting sites. I have some income and I can spend 20-30hours per week on this project. I would love to have it generating money in a few months and I will be working alone with a limited amount of money to invest in it.
My questions are:
Is having a strong domain name enough to make starting a business easier?
Are there different paths/ideas I should pursue in other to get moving?
If I want to work alone (for the most part), how do I brainstorm these ideas?
Startups seem are a young man's game and I am over 50 with a 9-year-old son to take care of. How do I face that?
Any particular companies or tools that can make my life easier from the start, without spending much money?
Any other opinions?

First step is to check that you're not infringing on any existing trademarks. Use https://www3.wipo.int/branddb/en/ and search for the brand name. If you find any trademarks registered in your country (or one your country has a relation with), you'd be wise to avoid using that name for your own project(s) without permission.
If it's trademark free, or if you've gained permission to use the trademark, consider approaching some of the companies you thought might sponsor your website to see if they would be interested in purchasing the domain, or perhaps working with you to build it out.

+1 to the point about trademarks. I'm not an IP lawyer, but I would also bet $10 that any attempts to commercialize this domain would be considered infringement by the TM owner. Good luck!
Thanks John. I checked and there are no trademaks. LIbertadores is a nouns that means liberators ... so there are beer, soccer tournaments, mall, all kinds of business that include the name liberators in their business. The word itself is not trademarked.
