What's everyone using for social media scheduling?

I was wondering what everyone was using for scheduling their social media posts across multiple networks.

Buffer was the original - but what's everyone using now?

What tools do you use to post to social networks?
  1. Buffer
  2. Hootsuite
  3. Sprout Social
  4. Meet Edgar
  5. I don't need no stinkin' tools. Manual posting for the win!

These are all great app for manual posting - personally have used Buffer and was great.

If you're looking to schedule social media posts via an API, can try Ayrshare's Social Media APIs - my app.

For example if you have a platform with multiple users and you need to post on their behalf, you can use the API to post from your system.

Just to be clear - use ayrshare's api's rather than have to integrate with each social independently? Interesting.

      1. 1

Yes, that is right. You can use Ayrshare's single API and don't need to worry about approvals at each social network or integrating with each networks APIs.

I actually love using Facebooks Creator Studio for Instagram and Facebook. Its free, easy to use and gets the job done.

      I hadn't thought of that!

I use Hypefury to schedule posts on Twitter.
    Main reasons -

    • I don't need to come on Twitter, so I don't get distracted
    • It resurfaces my old tweets automatically
    • It suggests best times to tweets based on when my followers are active.

Have you tried Pallyy.com? It's a scheduling, analytics & mangement platform that I've been building over the last 1.5 years.

We schedule to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin & Google My Business.

Actually I just wrote a post about hitting $2,000 MRR just the other day if you're interested in following along.

Love for you to try it out and give me some feeedback!

Hello @tim103, I was just thinking to move my clients to Pallyy.

I saw your post on Product Hunt. Nice to know that you part of Indie Hackers community.

I have some questions regarding adding profiles from different locations in the world. Clients are around the world and we are mainly based in Serbia. Will that make any problems when it comes to scheduling and posting?

        Hey Dusan,

Excellent! Actually yesterday I added a time zones feature to the calendar which is perfect for your situation.

For each client you can set the time zone of the calendar, which means you can view the calendar & schedule posts in that time zone! Another agency requested this, so I added it and I've had a few other agencies let me know how handy it is already.

Send me a message on Instagram, or email if you have a chance - I'd love to chat further!

Thanks for such a quick response! Can you send me an email or I can contact you via form? My main concern is can scheduling posts break the ToS of Instagram, Facebook etc using Pallyy?

          1. 1

Not at all. Pallyy is approved by all the social networks, and we use the official APIs - so there's no breaking of T&C's!

Either email or form is fine.

That is great! This is my first time using scheduling tool, and I am currently in searching for the best tool. Talking to you, made me sure that I will test it with Pallyy. Thanks for having a time to respond on my questions.

                No stress!

Let me know how it all goes.

I just send you an email on your contact form.

Site looks impressive. Add it to my post and I'll try and take a deeper dive!

I am also curious about what the end goal is for people using scheduling tools to post social content.

    • Getting customers?
    • Something else?
    1. 2

In most cases the main reason - is to save time.

Posting to 5 platforms at once will save you a hell of a lot of time if you were previously doing 5 platforms one by one.

But why do they post on 5 platforms?

        1. 2

To grow their reach, get more eyeballs on their platform/product and eventually convert people into users/sales.

          1. 1

So the people using these tools are all makers?

            1. 2

Well, I am and I use scheduling for my own SaaS for these exact reasons.

    2. 2

Sure, the ultimate end goal is getting customers/making sales. But that's not how marketing works!

      1. 2

There are of course steps in between. But I am still figuring out what the (most common) end goal is for people signing up for tools like this.

'Having an audience' is not an endgoal imho.

        1. 2

Some people just like the sound of their own voice ;-)

    1. 1

Signed up and checking it out. I like the relationship-building concept.

      1. 1

By all means DM me if you notice anything that you don't like. The tool is in development and I am still in the process of figuring out product market fit.

Congrats on the product Luke, looks very easy to use. Would you consider integrating more platforms (quora, linkedin) for people like me that are creating long-format articles (I have a B2B business so I need to provide a very specific format of content).

I used StoryChief a long time ago for longer form:

Looks solid, thanks for sharing Paul! Would you say that it's worth it for a smaller team (like me and eventually a few freelancers copywriters)?

          1. 1

It was a couple of years back so I'm a bit hazy, but yes I rather liked it at the time. Pricing a bit high for an indie hacker but acceptable for an agency I think. Get a free trial
