Where do the majority of your client leads come from?

I imagine most of us work predominantly on word-of-mouth, but I'd love to hear how you 1.) encourage more word of mouth and or 2.) built other systems for client lead generation.

I honestly have no idea. Lately it's a combination of Google Search and word-of-mouth. Analaytics can tell you so much (yes, they came from Google Search, but maybe they heard it from a colleague, or yes, they came from Twitter, but only bought after they saw a specific competitor site, which you can't really know).

In my case replying to relevant discussions on Twitter and HackerNews is also effective. Overall I just try to help people that are already having the problem my product is solving AND they are actively looking for a solution.

That being said, my marketing budget and effort is close to zero. I will be able to give more useful info next month when I will start a real content marketing campagin. 😊
