Where do you go to find problems?

Everyone knows the recipe: look for a problem, solve it, sell it, get rich!

But how can you find a worthy problem to solve?!
Where do you go?!

Talking to people and learn what pain points they have. Or when working/living, looking for moments where no existing solutions exists or it does not satisfy your needs. I think that these two are promising ways to find problems worth to solve.

Hi I checked your profile, from here your pic is woman, then I clicked it change to a man then redirected to your profile, and it showing a lake pic ? @csallen is that a bug ?

      1. 1

@Jondeporta thanks for reporting, I forgot to do it. I guess it's a bug. I uploaded my real pic several times but it did not seem to work. Then I uploaded to test images the lake and the female. And after some time I got three different pictures but were unable to change them since then.

I believe one of the most reliable places to do it is by lurking on Reddit.

It is one of the largest communities in general and you can find specific subreddits about the niche you are considering. Also, people will head to Reddit to seek advice about their problems or give advice based on their experiences so overall it can be a very enlightening experience.

There is a really great concept about this called the Sales Safari by Amy Hoy:

I run a problem validation platform needgap where people post their problems for startups to solve. Perhaps you might find something which resonates with you.

There are several products being created now for some of those need gaps.

There's no easy answer for this. It's a mixture of being curious, talking to people and trying to build stuff.

For me, the process of building things is what ends up leading me in the right direction. I start with a loose idea and refine it over time, as I discover and learn more.

Also, look at the resources on the right hand side of this page.

you see, you found one problem just now. Finding a problem is a problem for some people.

Just start paying attention every day around yourself or around others. Most of the problems exist without people realising them. They just put up with those problems and don't think that it can be changed.

    To work.

Find problems you're familiar with and you can be considered a "domain expert" in. These are the ones that you're more likely to come up with a solution that's needed by others.

  7. 2

I'd say start with problems you have. If you're finding something problematic, it's likely others are too. It's an intuitive question at first, but you will need to drill down further into the problem by asking others what they think too. As well as this, if you're working in an industry, it's likely you will know what kind of problems businesses/consumers are facing. Don't complicate things too much, start at home :)

Look at your credit card statement. What did you pay for? Why?

Participate in communities. Look at what others are saying they are having trouble with.

List out 3 of your hobbies or interests. Find 3 communities around those. Look for problem posts within those communities.

  9. 1

If I have the problem or I would use the product. All of my businesses are based on problems I have had or products that I would personally use. If you wouldn't use your product, than it is not worth building.

I call my wife, she has any shape and colour.

talking to people, all the time

    1. 1

      Where do you find them?
Cause talking only to your close circle won't do it!

      1. 2

Step outside of your circle to speak to people. Find groups and communities to hang out in.

          agree with @rosiesherry.

@omsharp you might want to read the book Mom test, it explains techniques to talk with prospects.

          Good luck!
