Which Hacker Networks are you in?

Fellow Indie Hackers, out of curiosity, which of founder/hacker networks are you part of. Any of these? Any others?

The link is misspelled it seems. It's lobste.rs ... Never seen it before though! Seems like HN type of thing? Mind dropping an invite? Looks interesting!

Lobsters is new. Who do you say it is mostly for?

      1. 1

Lobsters has been there forever :) I'd say it's quite niche HN. The focus is on computer science, and maybe a bit of science in general. It is also a moderated community where each inviter is responsible for the people they invited. I love it. But it's hardly a place to post non-technical stuff that could work on HN.

Various channels and chats on Telegram. There's no one single recommendation since each channel/chat is specific to some area.

I use YC StartUp School community/forums

    1. 1

Do you need to be accepted into YC Startup School to use those community forums?

      1. 1

Yep. You just need to sign up to YC Startup school.

      2. 1

There’s no application process. Anyone can signup for Startup School.

      3. 1

Yes. I believe you can still apply.

    1. 2

I assume you built this? Submitted my request.

      1. 1

        I did, launched 10 days ago :)

        1. 2

          Launched and closed, maaaan... :)

At the moment I'm just on IH. Which is already pretty full on if you want to actively contribute as community member. I'm just about to join WeWork Labs platform as I'm now part of their global mentoring program. For me it's about quality over quantity. If there's too many I feel I'm just going down way too many rabbit holes and losing valuable time that could be spent on building my business or working on my side hustle.

I've not heard about MakerLog. Could you talk a little about what it is you like with it?

    1. 2

Makerlog puzzles me a little bit. There is alot of activity on the site, but it looks useful only if you have 'followers' to encourage you. I don't have any, so it feels a little like a grind now. Maybe it will change later...

      1. 2

        Join the telegram group :)

https://t.me/makerlog has the most active live chat I have been part off.

It makes it a lot easier to submit todos as well as they have bot commands.

Im in news.ycombinator.com mostly. And IH of course.
