Looking to chat with editors who make a living, or at least a side-income by editing podcast audio, adjusting levels, removing "ums" and "ahs" ..etc. If you know someone, could you point to them here, or DM me?
Is there a DM here? You can always kz

@RecordEditPodcast - he does various things, including the IH podcast.
Oh yeah, @RecordEditPodcast is next level!
I am going to get some notes on his episode soon, but if you haven't heard this audio version yet, it's 100% worth it!

It's pretty good, you can see an example of me trying it out here:

I'm curious if any professional editors will start to use it.
Yeah, that's an interesting question. They seemed to be aiming for a consumer tool, but end up competing more with other Pro tools instead. I use Descript, once in a while, and it's a great tool, but so far it requires nearly as much effort as doing the edits without it. As a consumer, it's really hard to say how much I'd like to use it, given the effort involved. Did you know they can do all of that for video too?
Yeah, I’ve noticed they do video as well but I was having trouble finding documentation on it.
It fits a bit of an odd space since it works best as a first pass tool to easily remove or move around audio. However, you still need to look at the waveforms because the cuts it makes aren’t always correct in the text editor mode.
I think there’s value since you can work on the transcript and the edit at the same time. However, I’m guessing professionals like @iChris or @RecordEditPodcast are still going to be faster in their own tools.
I use Descript selectively but most often I'm going back to Logic Pro.
