Why Don't Youtubers Transcribe their Info-Videos into Blog posts?

This is a genuine question.

Why don't you guys do this? - Especially with your info content videos

  • Is it too hard to do?
  • Is it not worth it?
  • Have you never thought about it before?
  • Where would you even start?

I really want to hear your responses and see what you have to say? :)

This is one of the reasons I created https://www.spreadtech.online/

    I occasionally do this!

It’s a lot of work. Writing the script for the video is completely different than writing the article so you’re really writing twice.

      How about this:

Create a brief outline of the video, create the video, and then transcribe it into a blog post. Easiest route?

Additionally, convert it into MP3 and use it as a podcast - tripling your content output and reach.

For me the quality of the video and article would suffer. Even outlines change between the medium.

For example: I did a comparison of Wix vs Squarespace as both an article and a video (https://www.sitebuilderreport.com/wix-vs-squarespace and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmNvakQ9kOw). There are small differences (run on sentences don't work in video) and bigger differences (the outline is different for both).

          Thank you.

Yes, I completely get that outlines will change between mediums.

But it's nothing a little manual editing of the blog couldn't fix, right?

Do you create two different versions of a piece of content (video and text) for every piece of content you create?

    Transcribing is different than writing.

Note: I make google sheet tutorials

I'd actually prefer to write for reading, than speak for reading.

When reading as well, for my videos, someone would need screenshots.

Also when "watching" my videos, most ppl will listen and work in Google sheets.

    1. 1

Ahh for your product I guess it just wouldn't work too well

But what if the screenshots we're really easy to input at any section of the blog post - would you then see more of a benefit then?

      1. 2

screenshots are sorta easy to input. I just drag and drop into ghost now.

        1. 1

Wow?? I've never heard of this!!

Could you give me a real quick overview of how this works?

  3. 2

Because the SEO will not be worth much. Google already indexes youtube video content and you can't compete with it :(

    1. 1

But what if you used the post not for SEO, but other marketing channels?

Such as using that blog post for Quora, Medium, and Social media?

(You don't have to answer every question - just a lil background and what you think will suffice!)
