Why is no one creating NFT's on ETC?
Just curious. I'm using NFT's to tokenize tree planting certificates (we plant one tree for every product sold on our website). I wrote the NFT contract in Solidity but couldn't get myself to deploy on ETH. I picked ETC instead for the lower transaction fees & lower environmental damage. May migrate to ETH once it goes PoS.
Why aren't people minting NFT's on alternative chains like ETC with the crazy gas fees these days?

You should look into Matic/Polygon, an Ethereum sidechain.
Faster and cheaper transactions speed and you can still deploy the same solidity smart contracts.
Lots of projects are moving there while we are waiting for ETH2.0
Looks like I was wrong about not trusting Polygon. I've been hearing good things about it.
There are still some concerns over the decentralisation of it.
But since large projects with $2B+ are trusting the network I guess they have done they due diligence.
Not an expert here but I think it's because ETC was hit with multiple 51% attacks over the years. The network is just not secure enough.
I totally agree that ETH fees are outrageous but we just don't have better alternative (blockchain with mass adoption, a lot of hash power and a huge community).
I think part of the NFT value comes from the network that supports it. I could see this evolving over time, similar to how ".com" no longer dominates the domain ecosystem today. Until then though, ETH is king of programmable money in terms of development, excitement, and liquidity.
I'm not familiar with "migrating" NFTs. Wouldn't that effectively be the same as re-minting on a new chain, aka diluting?
