Would really appreciate thoughts on this idea & MVP!

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

I am building a platform that will allow product makers to tap into the audiences that they want for their product - more details of how I am envisioning this to work can be found here: https://ctrlalt.cc/ .

I have designed & developed this in a way that would solve the problems that I came across when launching a product myself, but I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts on the idea, if you would use something lie this & what you like / don't like about it!

P.S. If you do like the sound of it, please sign up to the waitlist 😊

Would you use a platform like CtrlAlt.CC ?

I don't get it. After reading all the text on the homepage quickly (new visitors will not sit there and think about what it means for more than 30 seconds), I didn't understand what the service does. So, be more direct and obvious. Explain the problem in one sentence, explain the solution in another sentence, and in each section of the homepage give an example of what the solution actually does or how it works or what exactly the user will be doing. Best wishes!

I agree with the point that reading the sections didn’t make it clear what the product was. The aesthetic of the website looks great though!

Thanks for the feedback Alex! Took it on board & will address in the next iteration :)

Hi again, I made some updates to the landing page as per the feedback received in here. Would love to hear your thoughts on the updated version! Thanks in advance

It's better. Now it's intriguing. I'm making a software product. I like using software products. I'm interested. But...

        1. "Product makers" section - keeps talking about "brands". What is a "brand"? Like a fashion brand? Is this a design consultancy? This whole section is hard to understand. Many concepts crammed into 3 sentences. What's the difference between some brand that I can be next to, and a product? I'm confused. From my perspective... From the perspective of the "brand" or "product" publisher, what do you want them to do? What are they supposed to do? I don't get it.

        2. "Product seekers" section - cool. Simple. I like it. But now, how do I sign up to be an early user? I just see a bunch of pink text. I like being one of the first to use a new thing, and get rewarded for it too!! :D But what's up with that hand holding a bunch of glitter? So this is about fashion brands? Ok. I'm not interested. Now reading this as a "product brand" company that you were addressing in the previous section, I'm confused. I thought you were going to just promote my stuff to early adopters. Now I have to pay them to review the product? That's OK. So this is a UI/UX review site? I thought it was a new business site like Kickstarter. I'm even more confused now. And what is up with that hand and gold glitter? So this is about physical products? Weird. Ok, I'm out of here.

        Best wishes!

Thanks for this Paul! You definitely got the core idea, which is great! (promoting new products to early adopters) But the confusing bits will need some tweaking, so thanks for the input. The video with the golden glitter was just symbolic - sorry for the confusion with this.

Contrary to some of the other comments, I like the style/vibe. It feels nice and personal. That said, I agree with the other notes -- I'm not sure I get what it's supposed to do!

    1. 1

Thank you :) that's exactly the vibe that I was going for. I will definitely re-work the content as it's a generic feedback theme. Would love it if you could have another look after I run a content update & see if things are clearer then!

Thanks Griffin - I made some updates to the content on landing page - do you think the platform is explained better now? Thanks in advance!

          1. 1

Much better! It’s crystal clear now.

            1. 1

Brilliant, thanks for all the help!

I was very confused until I got to the carousel on the very bottom. And the message you have there is compelling. It should be described at the very top.

With this type of application it's good to find a specific target. Perhaps focus on the types of tools you find helpful for your clients. Then bring more design consultants to your site and build a marketplace for them.

Very good points, really appreciate this input!

This sounds like a neat idea from what you said here, but to be honest, when I visited the site, I didn't really understand how it worked.

One tip: make the language a little more plain in the hero section.

Hope that helps and wishing you the best!

Something wrong with the link: "We are making some updates and will be back in a few minutes"

Hey Natalie, thanks for taking a look and sorry about the wait! I was making some updates to the website, as per the feedback that I've been receiving. Would love it if you could have a look now and let me know your thoughts!

I don’t understand your product. Are you selling ads? What are ‘sits’?

Thanks for having a look. It's actually more of a billboard concept, brought online. I will be re-working the content though, to convey things better & would love it if you could have another look when this is ready & see if the product is better explained then!

Colours are not great om mobiles.
Lots of typos like "sit" instead of "seat" (i assume).
As someone else said, you don't have long so get to the point ASAP.

Got it. Thanks for having a look at this!

    You need a designer.
The colour palette is bad in terms of contrast so it's hard to read
The experience with the transport top menu bar is bad
